Restaurant not usually known to travellers. A local introduced us to this place. Food not bad and prices are reasonable too. Ask for their signature dishes. Air-conditioned room is available too

Went there for the first time yesterday. Service is superb, food served very fast eventhough it was packed at 9.30 pm and the price is truly reasonable. I went there with my aunt, so we didn't get to try a lot, but what we ordered was very delicious. Food is not oily which is important for me. Must visit when in Kuala lipis

My last review on this restaurant was in 2016. If you know Kuala Lipis, you'd know that this is a very small town with not much options when it comes to dining in Chinese restaurant - a proper Chinese restaurant to be exact. Back in those days, there are many restaurants around and Low Kwan being the most famous one. Few years back, Low Kwan decided to close down for good and now there's Shi Jia Lou left, and another few smaller eateries. Now whenever there's annual dinner or birthday dinner, it'd normally be held here. Case in point - my company's annual dinner recently. โ—พYee sang - nothing much to shout at. It was those mass production kind of Yee sang but in the spirit of CNY, this was something not to be missed. โ—พa combination platter of fried spring roll, stir fried egg with mock shark fin, kerabu pork tendon, and yam basket with top shell. The kerabu dish was to die form. Love the sour and spicy taste of it. โ—พBraised abalone, razor clam, sea cucumber, fish maw, mushroom and decorated with broccoli โ—พHalf suckling pig & baked iberico short ribs. No complaints as both were awesome - the iberico doesn't taste like pure 100% variety but I really love the executions of this dish.. fall-of-the-bone texture. โ—พButtermilk prawns were fresh and coated with the lovely sauce. Cili padi was added to give it more kick โ—พStir fried lotus root with celery and macadamia nuts โ—พXO fried rice - I hardly eat rice but this for me scooping once and once again.. very hard to stop. The rice grains were wok fried under high heat resulting in the essential wok hei and I could see the shredded scallop in the rice. For once, the rice was wiped clean. We didn't ask for fish because we substituted with abalone instead.
