★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Normally one would stopover at Yong Peng, besides Ayer Hitam to load up before the final leg of the journey back to Singapore. Recommended by our driver, 168 is clean restaurant and has reasonably clean restrooms to boot. We ordered Foochow food of red wine, signature fish balls soup and non-Foochow food like pork with preserved vegetables, a deliciously fried fish and a plate of vegetables costing us MYR 156, easily double that in Singapore at any zhi char eaterie. The restaurant also has a vast array of local snacks at very reasonable prices. Easily the best restaurant in Yong Peng I've encountered so far. Definitely, worth a try. The fact that the cooks are Hokkien-speaking should not be deterrent if you Foochow-speaking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited 1 may 22. Had Fuzhou noodles, red sun chicken, and the signature garlic pepper fish. Reasonable pricing and taste is good. Haven’t been back for over 2 years. Glad it’s still here
