Just a ordinary chicken rice shop. Order a chicken rice, serve me a chicken meat with full of bones? am i ordering bones or meat ? lousy service, especially the lady's here. i'm not gonna to come again this shop

The evening started with the dreaded drive into town in anticipation of parking far away and walking only be greeted by a long lineup just to eat Ipoh's famous 芽菜雞 at one of the popular restaurants. However, when the sky opened up with rain and thunder, we made an executive decision to turn the car around and go to Ah Loi which we drive past at least 6 times every day and have not eaten at in 7 years for no apparent reason. BEST DECISION EVER! ? Granted, the decor is left wanting and you are dining only a stone's throw away from Jalan Pasir Puteh but I am all about the food. The interior actually looks well lit and ventilated but I would have no idea because it was packed and the line was spilling outside with many people waiting for takeout! We ended up with a small table outside facing the street and parking lot with the sound traffic accompanying, but other than that, the rest of the dinner was absolutely PERFECT in every way! When chef/owner came to the table to take our order, he was surprisingly friendly and and in good spirits considering the absolute chaos that was going on with all of the orders he was taking in the kitchen! Although it took a while to take our order, once the order was taken, the food came to us very quickly. One of the most impressive things was that the amount of chicken, bean sprouts and liver that he brought was absolutely the perfect amount of food for us. Not too much and not too little and every last bite was savoured. The chicken texture was moist, firm and extremely well seasoned with the flavorful soya sauce. The plump crisp bean sprouts were cooked perfectly and also well seasoned. Surprisingly, it was the livers and gizzards that stole the show as the livers were rich and creamy and the gizzards were a perfect al dente. 河粉 was silky smooth in a subtle tasty broth. Final conclusion, I don't need to eat at one of the big names in town anymore and having to look for parking and compete with tourists to enjoy an exceptional meal of 芽菜雞 when there is Ah Loi in the neighbourhood! However, you will still have to line up and wait for your food but that's because the locals know they are the best! ?
