Meng Kee Char Siew despite their fame, actually delivered, the char siew is the glassy tender kind, with a lean cut. Fragrant and well marinated, it's pretty flawless tbh. While the food is great, the price is NOT and the staff attitude on the other hand, could use some improvement. They almost have a rude one when asked certain questions, like their crispy belly, which they don't serve? For whatever reason, one can just tell nicely it's not available. For further proof, do check out their walls of messages to patrons. No photos taken of the amazing msg, but to paraphrase : our pork (belly dish?) is very expensive, please take note. JUST AMAZING. We took our time after our meal but wasn't shooed away, which is very kind of them I perceive. Prolly will not return myself, not such a big fan of roasted meat anyways.

folks in klang valley are quite fortunate when it comes to choices of chinese roasts. a lot of excellent ones and it's down to personal choice really.

First time try after heard and watched from friends' comment + YouTube + fb reviews. In the end it was dissapointed, as we put quite high expectation on it. The char siew is really hard and i never had such harden char siew before. The staff recommended us the roasted chicken as well, the taste also so so. I don't think I'll purposely go there for the second time.

The char siew I order not too slim.. all come slim and not juicy, maybe change chef but is not same with previous. If delicious expensive no problem but honestly the taste is not good anymore. I asked the auntie, why all slim and dry, she say because today char siew like that . Not acceptable reason

This is by far my top 3 char siew place!! I am from Hong Kong and tried a lot of char siew growing up, this is definitely one of the best I have ever had. The taste goes more to the sweet side, and the meat is so tender it almost melted in your mouth. We visited at almost 3pm, we called to reserve the char siew as we worry it will run out, the lady was very kind to hold the food for us. We ordered chicken and char siew, I think the chicken is okay nothing too special but the char siew will be something I want to come back again and again!

I've always had high expectation for Meng Kee. But it was dashed as soon as I tasted the rice that came along with the char siew. Owner will constantly remind patrons that char siew rice costs RM12.50. So I ordered ahead, while my other half took up their wan tan mee offer. My Char Siew came in just as I expected of it, but the wan tan mee's char siew was similar to ordinary normal roadside's nothing special char siew. But then again, probably the fact that they didn't hike the price of mee forced them to use this type? However, what I cannot stand was the rice that came along with my 'expensive' char siew. It lacked aroma, and the rice tasted and smell like a super cheap rice... Its definitely not a nice experience. Any chicken rice stall will give better tasting rice. I'll give this a pass from now on. Sorry, you ruined your reputation by serving really low grade rice for the price you demanded (Just look at the photo of the rice, dry, bad smell).

Good honey char Siew and wantan mee.. I personally like thier noodles... Chewy texture. But the price is at the high side... 2 pax chicken and char Siew, one noodles and one rice is around RM50. But the Char Siew is good though... Worth a try...

This is one of the best Char Siew Rice in town, so please don’t order others, just order their signature Char Siew rice! It’s worth for RM12.50? YES, it worth! The boss did remind me pork is expensive now, order Chicken + Char Siew rice is cheaper, only RM8.50, but I still insisted go for Char Siew Rice. Their Char Siew is crispy, not over burnt, juicy and combined with a bit fat, the lard and sweet barbecue sauce enhanced the taste. This shop don’t sell roast pork, only char siew.
