★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This has been the “go-to dinner place” for my family, whenever we’re in Kluang. We’ve had a number of items here at this place and most of them have been pretty good for the prices that we’ve paid.
The location is not too far off the main town of Kluang (Kluang Railway Station). The compound has got its own parking space that can accommodate up to about 10 cars at a time.
The Oyster omelette here comes on a hot plate at a really good deal. They also serve KL Style Hokkien Mee in a sauce that isn’t overly sweet or thick, just right at the perfect consistency. The Otah here is also perfectly BBQed and layered.
There is this lady by the name of Mdm Ng, that comes daily at a certain time (around 7pm), selling some dried crackers, dried shrimps (udang kering) & homemade kaya spread. If you are lucky to come across her, do try her 2 kinds of the homemade kaya spread that comes at RM3.50 for each small tub. My personal favourite is the Pandan based kaya spread, that is probably the best kaya I have personally had. You can reach Mdm Ng at +60-12-775-5396.
I strongly recommend having the “dongdong” juice for your drinks, a unique juice made out of the tropical “dongdong” fruit that may seem like a cross between bitter and sour but extremely refreshing.
Apart from the BBQ fish where the sambal was pretty sweet, nothing else has disappointed me at this place. Expect to wait to be tabled if you’re here on a weekend evening, after 7pm. Nevertheless, the staff are more than friendly to serve you promptly when needed.
