★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love to bring friends from outstation here when I can so that they get to experience the beauty and serenity of this unique and lovely meditation centre on a hillside.
What I appreciate most is the detailed thoughts to the functional and aesthetic features incorporated to the hardscape and softscape that blended well with the natural surroundings.
And, of course, the warm and courteous hospitality extended by the staff of SBS.. always.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sasanarakkha Buddhist Sanctuary sits in a hilly area within natural greenery on the outskirts of Taiping. It has a monastery for Buddhist monks as well as a Retreat Centre for lay practitioners. The scenery here is extremely peaceful and calming. Arrangements need to be made with the office for transport up to the hill. Among the many beautiful facilities include shrine, office, multipurpose hall, dining hall, meditation halls in forested areas, guest lodges and numerous walking paths for outdoor meditation. There are regular meditation retreats held here. The office staff are very helpful and approachable. I enjoyed the scenery and sitting in meditation here. If you are looking for inner peace, this is the place to come. Super highly recommended.

Situated on a hilly slope rich in natural verdant ‘jungle’ and manicured landscapes, it is dotted with timber abodes. Peaceful and quiet, punctuated by the chirping birds, this is a slice of heaven that nourishes the body and mind. Beautiful.
