Dr Selva is a very good doctor...he was very clear in explaining our problem..highly competent...if not for the pandemic we should be visiting him again...He is very updated...and he can speak english, malay, mandarin, tamil.

Dr Selva had done an awesome n superb laparoscopic surgery ever. The best laparoscopic surgeon in Gynaecology from Melaka that we met after consulted 2 gynae doctors in KL and one in Penang. Mine was complicated one that make one of the doctor open and just closed without taking out my fibroid in 2019. Get to know about Dr Selva when I have visited one of the women’s clinic in KL. According to the Women’s Clinic doctor in KL , Dr Selva is the only doctor can do the surgery. We are residents of New York, and were disappointed with the American system in which gynaecologists in one department would not collaborate with fertility experts in another department to coordinate a treatment plan in which the patient is treated as a whole person with the ultimate goal of conceiving. The fertility clinic would try to push IVF solutions with a disregard to any underlying gynaecological impairments that would prevent conception naturally, and the gynaecology department would offer surgical procedures and recovery timelines that were counterproductive to us trying to conceive. It was in this situation of frustration that Dr. Selva came recommended to us via a friend in the UK who had shared similar negative experiences in the UK as well. We could not have been any more happier to have made the decision to invest the time and effort to travel to Malaysia to be seen at Dr.Selva's Fertility, Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic. As the name of the clinic implies, Dr. Selva truly did provide us with a holistic approach to treating my underlying gynaecological issues and offering a realistic pathway to us conceiving in a simultaneous manner. I had suffered from endometriosis for the greater part of my adult life, and after a skilled laparoscopic procedure by Dr. Selva's hands, we had conceived naturally. Our healthy daughter is soon to celebrate her first birthday and as parents, we could not be any happier. We count ourselves to have been truly blessed to have met Dr. Selva.

After one year of trying to conceive, went for full fertility treatment and was diagnosed with a block left tube. Blessed to be conceived after 3 months of surgery and had all my follow up here too. Clear ultrasound scan and supportive team. Highly recommended. Do bring a book/ fully charged phone, the wait can be long too :)

Hi Doctor ,i got hope by seeing your videos ,they are giving me hope to live .I am residing in KL ,I am trying to conceive since from an year ,but not happening,I am having intramural fibriod of 4 with sizes 4.0×3.7 cm . Kindly help me to sort out my issue without surgery. Because of this pandemic...I am like house arrest...unable to move out from home .

Little did I know that I would travel to Melaka for this op, people have asked me… KL got no good surgeons meh…? I have big fibroids plus multiple fibroids. The prior dilemma was, I had no problems, as I have healthy period flow and cycle. The fibroids do not intervene with my life. But I still have to acknowledge their presence and manage it as best I could. I combined a healthy lifestyle and medical consultation. I had many many consultations from Penang to KL for 5 years, however I am not comfortable with the solutions i.e. caesarean as the fibroid is large, vertical caesarean if the fibroid gets any bigger, hysterec as a one time solution – but why do I kill my own womb prematurely. The options feels more hurtful than my fibroids. Do I op, do I not ? When do I do it so that I don’t run into another close occurrence ? Or, leave it for monitoring. Will my womb be safe ? Beyond that, I did my best, yoga, clean eating. By grace, I got to know about Dr. Selva via Dr. Malkit Singh of Klinik Segara. Dr, Malkit spoke about Dr. Selva’s specialization area in laparoscopy for women’s womb and mastery in managing difficult surgical cases. I felt that this could be it. The surgery was a success. Despite having a big calcified fibroid, Dr. Selva masterfully removed it with small keyhole incisions. I am truly grateful to be worked on and treated by Dr. Selva. He spent 3.5 hrs working on my womb to clear multiple fibroids. I am healing fast and well. My day of discharge fell on Dr. Selva’s surgery day, I was concerned that my discharge would be delayed as I had to return to KL. I was really touched by Dr. Selva’s dedication and commitment, he came to see me before sunrise to clear my condition for discharge. Truly blessed to find a master doctor who is passionate and skilful in laparoscopy, offering minimally invasive solution to women. Gratitude to the team of nurses, Ms. Yong & Su Yin who have attended to me during my journey.

As patients of the clinic for a few years, our (both patients) latest experience with Dr Selva has been less than satisfactory, from start to end, to say the least. After making last minute adjustments to our plans to come in a few hours earlier (than our appointment time) to accommodate for an emergency surgery, just to be stuck in the clinic due to lack of efficiency from his receptionist (a very rude one too). The consultation sessions itself were heavily rushed, with Dr Selva failing to listen and address our concerns, such as side effects from medical conditions and medication suggestion by the doctor himself. Dr Selva also got increasingly impatient and annoyed throughout the session, talked over us multiple times, even as to raising his voice at us due to an assumption he made that was not true. During the session, Dr Selva tend to gloss over much details, resulting to me having to do a lot of self research after the session, which begs the question of why do I need to go to the doctors in the first place? Dr Selva also did a poor analysis of my friend's condition, making statements that are contradictory, back tracking, and giving suggestions that highly requires a second opinion. To make things worse, one of his receptionist (an old lady with shoulder length hair and glasses) was very rude and condescending. When asked for written instructions for medications prescribed by Dr Selva which I was supposed to follow religiously, said staff told me "YOU take the notes yourself and I see whether u understood what i said!". This is very unprofessional, and I am a patient, not a student here to take "exams" from her royal highness. Said staff also proceeded to order both of us around, one example being her shouting at my friend to "tell your friend to help u take your form to xxxx dept!", repeatedly and loudly that I can hear her from outside of the clinic. My friend was also made to run back and forth multiple times to collect various documents which were already ready (scans were printed on the spot during consultation, and receipts were written on the spot when making payment), instead of being given all documents at once ( like mine). During the final "run", we were then told to "just wait for the doctor" without further information. Just wait. The treatment we received were highly inappropriate on a professional level, and extremely condescending and offensive on a personal level. TLDR : Doctor rude and impatient, does not listen, make baseless assumption and raise voice at patient. Consultation experience and quality is extremely disappointing. Clinic should improve service quality, and train their staff to be of a professional level.
