The process of getting my visa was quick as pick-up was available within 3 days. In the beginning, I thought that they are really efficient as I have to wait 1-2 months when I applied for my student visa for US. However, the rude treatment that I have experienced there left me wondering what kind of training do the staffs receive. I have asked some general questions at the "Documents" counter, and I have experienced nothing but inefficiency. Without listening to my full question, the staff just told me to ask my employer instead. I can't help but think that the staffs themselves are not properly trained on the knowledge that they are supposed to have for their positions. She might as well just told me to ask Google. The security guard who works there was not only rude, but also bias in his treatment. I have been to the office several times, and I find that he behave impolitely to women customers. I arrived early on pick-up day and the office was not opened yet; there were some customers already waiting. When one of the counter opened, a woman went up to collect her documents but the security guard shouted at her. I then found out that he was also trying to pick up documents; not his own but for another male acquaintance. And when I was collecting my document, I handed my ID card to the counter staff but the security guard tried to stop me and he asked me where is my receipt. Then, he let someone behind me cut in line by taking his receipt and handed it to the counter. If the person working behind the counter said it is alright for me to use my ID card as proof of identification, what makes him think that he can disallow me from picking up my own passport? Is he saying that my government issued ID is not more official than a piece of paper? Although I appreciate the quick process, it was nothing but an unpleasant experience as a whole.

I've been in Taiwan several times and all Taiwanese that I met were very friendly and helpful but the lady at the counter was very RUDE! Two times applying my visa here and I had the same bad experiences with the lady. She was very impatient and didn't helping at all. I just arrived and about to took out my passport but she impatiently and yelled with high tone "PASSPORT!!" as if I was a deaf. Very bad service!

The visa application process was quite smooth and the documents required are listed on their website. Apparently they informed me that Bangladeshi passport holders need to email them beforehand (not really sure why but they accepted my application anyways)

Never trust the appointment number handed out to you at the lobby. I was given a number on Wednesday to come back on Friday, but when I arrived at 9am sharp, they told me the appointment number is not applicable because the office still serve the public on first come first served basis. Ridiculous system and unfriendly officers. (Photo at 9.05am on 10 Sept)

Service OK. Place is not crowded. Process quite fast. They have a photocopy machine there. Need to pay RM0.5 for one paper. Staff is not very friendly but helpful. Email responses is quick, you can check on the required documents before visit since now is MCO you might need more documents than what is stated in the website.

Must collect yellow visitor pass from the security counter at the lobby before proceeding to level 7 (no need to present ID for pass collection). Documents submission in the morning only and documents collection in the afternoon only. Authentication fee is Rm63 per set of documents. Express collection (same day afternoon) will be charged Rm32 per set of documents. Normal collection is 3 working days (including the submission date). The security guard and Taiwanese officers at TECO are fine.
