โ โ โ โ โ As the Taiping Visitor & Information Centre (TVIC) was closed without any good reason, I was told to get tourism information at the MPT Hall. The women in charge of that charge is lovely. She gave me a map of Taiping, a brochure and spent about 30 minutes of her time to talk about Taiping interesting places to visit. Thank you very much

Please don't wash your cars at Pusat Cuci Kereta Automatik Taiping Jalan Assam Kumbang, one of the worst polluters that irresponsibly discharge tons of untreated water and chemicals into our waterways and flows into the nearby river which is only a few yards away and all the way into the sea of Kuala Sepetang and affects the livelihood of our fishermen. Over the years since it started operation, the drains have become blackened in the neighborhood and the fish in the drain have long disappeared. You can check this out and see for yourselves. Evidently the harvest of cockles is diminishing or has completely been wiped out. In addition, the workers at the car wash have to bear with the loud noise from the machine for long hours and one of the neighbors has moved out due to the noise pollution. Please ... please wash your cars at home and protect our planet earth and save our river and the livelihood of our fishermen. Majlis PerbandaranTaiping please do not issue indiscriminately license for car wash and check if this kind of operations will cause damage to our environment before any license is approved. Cintai Alam Sekitar Kita.
