Request phychiatrist to write letter and it tooks 2 hours and 30 minutes to get it done.. My grandma is hungry, waiting us for dinner together.. And yet, because of the letter,we have to wait until last patient been diagnosed only they willing to write the letter. The letter is already in template format, not sure why they want us to wait for so long.. Are they abusing our mental or healing our mental problem? Please take second thought before you visit this clinic..

Despite of the bad reviews but I personally felt that Dr Ng is very passionate and giving good advise. I feel calm and secure after meeting him. I'll sure visit him again the next time.

I haven't been there yet, but was referred by Dr Azizul from HPJ. They were colleagues once. Straight to the point, I read through the reviews here. It seems like there is a pretty bad mixed reviews. I'm about to see Dr. Ng, also known as Prof. Ng. He also worked in PPUM but at a much lower price. I saw him once in PPUM. He seemed OK to me, but I don't really know him much. In terms of medications, there isn't anything too drastic--just a small switch from Seroquel to Olanzapine. I got Bi-polar 2 and PDD (, Persistent Depressive Disorder, a.k.a., dysthymia). My state of condition is pretty bad because medications slowly got less and less effective on me. It's also called tolerance to meds. I just would like to know if Prof. (Dr.) Ng is caring and skilled psychiatrist. His full name, I checked from website, is Ng Chong Guan. I would appreciate any feedback from you. Thanks.

Dr Ng, I am not sure whether you are trained properly or not. It seemed to me that you have seriously damaged my mum's health and overdose my mum and add more medications inside. If my mum's blood cells count is reduced and health is deteriorating you are in trouble. By right, by law you are killing a patient if you are not diagnosing them well and overdrugging them more. Your license will be removed if you are not careful.

Went to a couple of other clinics but this was the only place where I felt really comfortable and not taken for granted. I had a previous diagnosis from a different doctor many years ago, and the other clinics I went to just treated me based on that diagnosis. Tan & Ng agreed to re-diagnose me when I said that previous solutions did not work. This seemingly small concession was a huge sign for me - they respected my opinion and did not treat me based on the assumption that I did not know better. This theme continued throughout my course of treatment. I was never made to feel bad or silly, no matter what I said or asked. I also observed how they treated other clients - again, all I saw was respect and kindness. A warning: they're not going to spoonfeed you with a solution. They expect you to put in some work towards healing yourself, and honestly? I feel that's the best method when dealing with any illness, but it's particularly important with mental or emotional illness. If you expect a quick fix or a 100% doctor-driven solution, this is not the place for you. However, if you truly want to work through your issues with the goal of eventually being able to deal with them on your own in the future - the psychiatrists and counselors here will equip you with the tools and knowledge to do so. Yes, it will be expensive, but compared to other places I've been to, I felt that this clinic gave me good value for the money I spent. Yes, it will take time and effort, depending on the severity of your issues. But after a few of sessions here, I never felt the need to seek treatment again - either here or anywhere else. I think that speaks for itself.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. It sickens me to the core that this place is still operating. I've had so many issues with the clinic and Dr. Ng. 1) BIGGEST ISSUE OF ALL - Dr. Ng overdosed me with medication that was NOT meant to be taken for a prolonged period of time and at unsafe dosages. Not just that, I was put on multiple types of medication at the same time because he claimed that I suffer from "medication resistant depression" and bumped up the dosage during each visit. He did this even though I gave him feedback that I constantly felt drugged, drowsy and started suffering from memory lapses.I ended up collapsing several times as a result and went to a different psychiatrist for a second opinion. The other psychiatrist I saw had to detox my body of the meds Dr. Ng prescribed me and diagnosed me with a completely different illness. 2) Relating to the above - Dr. Ng was not in when I went to the clinic for help after collapsing. Their receptionist told me to just self-prescribe a lower dosage. Utterly shocking practice. 3) Dr. Ng completely lacks empathy for his patients. Every session with him was as though he was reading off a textbook and his only solution was to keep bumping up dosages. 4) The clinic does not respect their patient's time. I never had a single appointment start on time and have been kept waiting for up to an hour at times. For a clinic that charges upwards of RM1,000 for consultation and medication, I would expect some basic courtesy. 5) They do not provide any breakdown in the charges on the invoice. It's extremely sketchy. TLDR; The only thing this clinic seems to care about is getting its patients hooked onto medication to make profit out of them with no real intention of providing medical care.

Everyone here is patient, calm and kind. Appointments are necessary and even then there might be a wait when you arrive. Note that before referring you directly to a psych, you *will* be diagnosed by a doctor. This doc will advise you on what you need, whether it's medication or further treatment by a specific psych. So far in my experience they have been really good. They truly listen and don't interrupt until you're done and done. Their advice has stood me in good stead. Yes, they are expensive, and if you can afford it I highly recommend it. Do NOT expect quick fixes.

I've been under Dr. Ng Chong Guan care for the past 1 year. He is kind, patient, and empathetic which are important qualities for a good doctor to have. I appreciate how he has always made sure that I am at ease during my appointments with him.
