Very So so Italian food. Price is high and expensive for the standard and quality of food. Food was flat and undercooked. Cook is a very young chap and possible un experienced and a novice. The restaurants ventilation is poor our hair and cloths smelled of wood fire while the food didn't have wood fire.

1st visit last night. Ordered pork chop with gorgonsola sauce, excellent. Pork shoulder less so. Their special coffee roast also excellent. Keen to try their wood oven pizza next.

Before I start, let me put on record that I liked the food when it was The Coconut House in Jaya One. And I do not like giving honest but negative reviews in times like these when most are trying to survive but sometimes justice needs to be done. I didn't bother taking pictures. Thinking that this was a restaurant I've never tried before, what the heck, what can go wrong with Italian. So, like any new F&B outlets I try, I will select the "chef recommended" or "signature" dishes cos if these are not up to mark, then don't bother with the rest. So, the sliced pork pizza was a blasphemy to anything called pizza. Yes, you experiment with ingredients like pork lard and that is commendable but if the pizza pastry looks and tastes like an uncooked low-grade frozen dough, then for an Italian restaurant, it is an epic fail. Sliced pork was as scarce as the taste and unless you are skimping on the cheese, don't call it a pizza. The wild mushroom soup was unfortunately bland. I've had much better wild mushroom soup from cafes and we didn't really taste the garlic in the garlic bread. As for the squid ink spaghetti, it was edible but very dry and the squid wasn't cleaned thoroughly. We finished all cos I don't like wasting food. It was a really sad experience cos I loved the Coconut House pizza as it was wood-fired and the food in general was good. But as The Italian Job, it was by far the worst meal I've ever had. You obviously changed your chef and probably entire kitchen crew but I believe you would have a standard set from what you served as Coconut House. I hope you try to return to that food quality and I wish you all the best. Also, I believe the young girl is your daughter, maybe, and she really didn't look like she wanted to work there. FOH order-takers are important for first impressions.

The roasted pork chop looked more like steamed pork slices. Pizza was ok but the mocha & latte were bad. Just like drinking plain water. I only tried a tiny piece of the pork chop and didn't touch it thereafter. It was not on the bill after I feedback to them how bland it was. I won't recommend this place, for that kind of prices, there are many better food elsewhere I didn't take picture of so called pork chop coz I was too busy complaining to the waitress. Looked no way like pork chop, more of pork slices that I thought they took the wrong order!

Italian also got good vegi choice. Order margheritha pizza with buffalo cheese and gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce. Well prepared dough is loaded with margheritha sauce and mozzarella cheese and baked in rubber wood fire oven. The gnocchi is Italian style pan mee caught me surprise. The Italian stratch mix with potato produces familiar yet special taste. And the Lungo Italian Americano is also very kwau.

Son loves it's thin crust wood fire pizzas and the rest of us have simply enjoyed the brewed coffee, tasteful music and authentic Italian food. A great place to host our guests without burning a hole in the pocket.

Mediocre food with overpriced menu items, indifferent table service and using fans instead of turning on the aircon during a hot afternoon tells you a lot. 1. Cold bread with a only tablespoon of olive oil and drops of balsamic vinegar 2. Meat was cut along the grain rather than against it thus had a hard time chewing it 3. The carbonara was an item I would like to forget. 4. Seafood spaghetti was just average 5. The waitress forgot my starter. Did not bother to repeat the orders to us despite we were the only open table.
