Not charged as advertised. My dark and stormy cocktail was the worst I have tasted, awful and could not drink. Should have been served in a tall glass with lots of ice for a starter! Did not use dark rum, ginger beer which are the main ingredients and used a cheaper alternative white rum and ginger ale. Would not recommended.

Been away from the UK for 3 years. I came to this place by mistake on a short trip to Malaysia. To my surprise I seen a Roast on the menu. It was incredible.

There isn't anything magnificent about this place, more like average overpriced fish & chips bar. This place usually has customers since its located like, in the heart of changkat where people are out drinking every day. Everything tasted like it was made with minimal effort in the kitchen. Like the grilled seafood platter is as if they salted & peppered everything then just grilled it. Like no special, unique touches to any of the food. Nothing special about the batters, you can probably prepare the dishes on your own at home just by googling the dish and following one of the recipes you come across online.

Tried their fish and chips promotion that is available on every Mon. Overall food was nice considering the promotion. Just that their T&C needs to be updated. Only the 2 lower priced fish and chips are entitled for the promotion (Barramundi and John Snapper). This was not stated anywhere and was not even advised when I called them specifically to check on this promotion.

Been searching for proper fish and chips, plenty choices of drink and different foods with affordable prices. Pretty good service, waitress are very fast and good memory to know who order what foods. I ordered cod (ofc) and Guinness set, it was very satisfying and good enough portion for me, the fish is truly magnificent!

Good vibe, in the heart of changkat. Loved the ambiance and the very efficient staff. Being vegetranian there was only one pie on the menu for me. However the veggie pie was freshly baked with crisp pastry and piping hot. The fries were also delicious. Cocktails were great too. A bit on the pricey side and lacks airconditioning, but overall a great place to spend an evening .

Not the least magnificent, and certainly my first and last visit. I'll start off with the fish and chips. We ordered two cods, one hake and one barramundi. Firstly, their triple fried chips were much soggier than most single fried chips I've had anywhere else. Now to address the fishes. Out of the three, the most decent one would be the hake, but all of them were simply not good. Onto the issue I have with the cod. I've had countless cod and chips over the years I've been in the UK, and I've also had the one at The Laughing Fish @ Genting. Never have I found more than 3 fish bones in my cod, ever, and in most cases, I've never found a single one. We found 3 bones in our cod at The Laughing Fish and they immediately apologized for that and offered compensation. My dad and I who both had the cod found ELEVEN bones in EACH of our cod. We asked the waitress, to which she just replied that cod is supposed to have bones, and the fish came to them this way, so there's nothing they can do about it. We were baffled. Obviously, all fish do have bones... But restaurants are supposed to make sure the fish is properly deboned, and in this case, they clearly did NOT care at all. Luckily for us, we were adults who were careful enough to pick out the bones ourselves. But in many cases, kids would also order fish and chips since it's supposed to have no bones - or LESS bones to be safe. We did try to feed a bit of fish to our toddler at that time thinking that it would be fine, but our toddler picked out a bone as well - it could have ended up really badly if he didn't know or bother to. However, even before finding the bones, at first bite I didn't think the fish and chips were good. Not worth it. The mushy peas were pretty good. Other dishes were alright (chicken and mushroom pie was decent), but not the best. Had the Bangers & Mash too, sausage was a bit dry. We also had their sticky toffee pudding. The caramel was slightly over and burnt, and the overall texture was too cakey. We were really excited to try their food but this was such a disappointment. I'd say if you really do want to go, go for the pies, but the fish and chips are a big no. Highly recommend Crispy Chippy instead for a much better fish & chips experience even though it's not cod.

One of the best fish and chip I ever had in Malaysia. Highly recommended to pick Cod or Barruddin fish. We had mussels in white wine and cream, the taste was good but the mussels didn't taste fresh. Prices are reasonable and they offer discounts in Monday too. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. The bar has got the 60s vibes with some vintage songs playing. Totally love it, everything just felt right. Highly recommended.
