4 stars as the guy manning the main shop wasn't very helpful. The lady in the other branch is extremely friendly and helpful - and they have a range of small sizes with soft materials - I wonder why it's a bit different to the main shop? The T-shirts I got at the branch were very good quality. For ยฃ8/piece they are a bargain compared to the stuff you get at Primark. The T-shirts are sturdy and still look new after several washes. The designs are quirky with a Malaysian feel. I will be back for more.

An interesting tourist and art buffs must-go shop which looks more like an art display centre run by a local artist named Charles Cham . His free style paintings are really interesting and he even has some of his work printed on t-shirts which can be bought as souvenir at a reasonable price. Premises is set on the banks of the Malacca river in an old building which I believe to be at least a century old based on its architecture. Entrance is free but parking is a nightmare. Highly recommended to give this place a look and visit if you are in the historic town of Malacca, Malaysia.

That Orang Utan art is so striking that it almost a crime if i didnt stop and take a picture. This is so spectacular.

Chanced upon this store, it has nice decor and sells T-shirts. Has an arty feel to it (run by an artist I believe). It's near the East & West Dumplings and the Naked Bikini Coconut Shake shop so drop by and take a look and buy a shirt or two. They have nice designs!

The original Orangutan House (there is another around the corner on Jalan Hang Jebat) is the workshop and gallery of the friendly, humble and very talented Charles Cham. The walls are adorned with Charles' excellent work which is based on the yin and yang philosophy. It's colourful, fun and also has a message. Drop in and say hello, grab a t-shirt with a clever print or pick up an original piece of artwork. I'm now the proud owner of a piece - thanks Charles! :)

The place for quirky t-shirts, designed and sold by Charles Cham. Striking visuals on the facade of the main store! (They have a branch on the nearby Jonker Street.)

Visited back in Feb. The Orangutan House is a quirky little shop selling art and t-shirts designed by Charles Cham. Most of the t-shirts have a design in the centre with a local Malaysian flavour. I only bought one shirt due to the finite space in my backpack and it was a hard choice. Thereโ€™s also some paintings on display, but I didnโ€™t try to find out if they were for sale. Worth a look if youโ€™re in Malacca, especially if youโ€™re on the lookout for a unique tee from the city as a memento.
