β β β β β very cosy chalets, clean environment and great friendly staff.... we love the spacious open area under the trees by the beach in front of the chalets... great for many activities or just relaxing enjoying the sea-breeze..... prior arrangement brought us to enjoy our hours for snorkelling (even for first-timers like some of us 'cos they have great trainers!).. we even tried fishing and 'mencandat sotong' and we had a good catch too! Our package came with food n refreshment and it was very good! (tq En Wan n Pn Rashidah).....However I would like a bigger and better blanket for the rather cool nights !!! ....will go again ..insyaAllah.........

β β β β β The hotel is more expensieve than its two neighbours (Mama's and Coral View) but has the same (very) basic rooms, my sea view chalet only had a bed and nothing else. Below is the photo of the bathroom attached. They only accept cash and will not make any exceptions for you to pay any cashless way. For cleaning you have to go and ask for it to be done. I've had 2 rooms, the AC was broken in the 1st room and gave me a cold. When I asked where I could buy medicine on the island I was told I needed to go to another island to visit the clinic, I've found all I needed in the small shop next door to the hotel which they did not tell me to go to. I forgot a couple of things in the 2nd room, when I asked about them after check out they were never found. The manager was not nice and did not help to find a solution when a problem occurred. Definitely not recommended.

β β β β β The location of the chalets are nice, right in front of the beach, and the staff is also very helpful. The chalets are basic, but when you have the beach right in front of you luxury is not really needed right? The only problem we had was that we didn't think it was very clean, especially the bathroom was really outdated and wasn't clean. For example, behind the toilet there was this sticker thing that looked like insect removal but it was sticked to the ground and the pot and there were death gecko's stuck to it. Since the shower is directly to the toilet everything gets wet all the time and things like that start to smell. But this is Perhentians, we stayed at another place before the Reef which was even worse in terms on how clean it is. So if you are looking for very luxury vacation you shouldn't go here. If you don't mind things like this it's very nice.

β β β β β Had a nice stay, quiet, calm and at peace. The rooms are nice and cozy, love the architectural of the chalets. Love chilling and lazing around in the hammocks provided by the chalet. Love the friendly and helpful staff, especially the Jack Sparrow uncle that always come to the rescue, my hero... I believe his name is Mr. Awie. He's an awesome guide and boatman. He's very patient with my friend who is afraid of the water and depths. He calmly guide us to show the pristine corals and fishes around the island. We spotted numerous types of nemo or clown fishes and even swam with the sharks! Totally recommend to take both snorkeling tours with The Reef Chalet Team. Such a pleasant and sweet memories created here ?

β β β β β Great place to stay during your trip. The view is amazing and is right next to the beach. Although the power sometimes goes out and there is no hot water for your shower it's still a nice place to stay. The wifi however depends on the location of your room. The closer your room is to the check in area, the better the wifi is.

β β β β β Amazing stay at Garden view room at The Reef with three small kids. Purposely booked this chalet to experience real beach life, and The Reef definitely served it. The staff were so polite and friendly, not to forget the over-friendly squirrel (so mind your food! ?). The chalet were clean and as advertised. You have to bring your own mosquito repellent, because the mosquito are wild. But that was expected since we stay in an island, that were their habitat. Bathroom can be improved, as the toilet became clogged.
There were mini mart and restaurant near to chalet, and another one in Mama's chalet, and Coral View as well. We also went to Long Beach via boat taxi (RM10/pax) one way to had dinner and lunch the next day. So estimated RM25 per pax for each mealtime. If you're on budget, can order to receptionist, they could offer RM5/meal, but you have to order early as they deliver it from somewhere else.
As for activities, we went to snokerling, windmill hiking, kayaking, watched fireshow, stargazing and eat eat eat.
Overall, if you wish for an awesome and relaxing stay, The Reef might be suitable for you as it located in Perhentian Besar. We extended our stay to four days and it was the best decision ever. They had online transfer option now. so dont worry if you did not bring enough cash. Few shop also have qrpay as well.
