★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You have your choice of automatic or standard. Decided to rent a small hatchback for 50rm. Simply present your driver's license, along with 50rm cash deposit; total 100rm. After shopping around town, you will find this price to be very reasonable; as even our hotel was requesting 70rm each day for the same size vehicle.
Service was quick and easy. Unfortunately, when the vehicle arrived it wasn't clean and had no petro (gasoline). Literally, the gas gauge was blinking. To their defense, you may return the vehicle exactly how you received; which made for an easy turn-around upon checkout and then boarding the ferry back to Penang.
Quick Note: Regarding the economy size vehicle. Filled up 10rm worth of petro and was able to get almost 100km out of it. This may give you an idea of how far you are able to go per liter; which was a total of 4.5 liters
