β β β β β Superb service from start to finish! This is my second time visiting the store, and the attention to detail is top-notch. The eye tests are advanced and modern, beyond those offered by regular stores. Prices are reasonable, and the frames offered are up to date. They will help you select the best lenses based on your lifestyle and the most fashionable frames based on your face shape too.

Vantage were excellent - amazing service, top choices, great prices, and very professional. They were friendly and helpful - made buying glasses fun. We will go back for future needs!! β β β β β On recommendation of the Expats in Penang Facebook page, I was directed to this shop for my needs. As someone who has severe myopia with a high prescription, I have been cautious about visiting most eyeglasses shops because I have paid good money in SEA for an incorrect prescription before. However I was assured that this shop had modern equipment and professional service, so after four years of being unable to go back to the USA for a new pair of glasses due to the pandemic, I headed to Vantage Optometry with high hopes.
Eric was the optometrist who administered my eye exam. He was very professional - he correctly identified that I had astigmatism in one eye even before I told him about it, and also gave some suggestions to improve the dryness in my eyes (again, something I also didn't mention beforehand). He also was kind enough to give me a complimentary pair of contact lenses in order to see how my new frames would look before the lenses came in - a thoughtful touch of customer service, I think. Overall I felt confident about his expertise and am looking forward to picking up my glasses in a week or so.
The fee for an eye exam was much cheaper than I expected (80 rm - I have paid double or triple that amount before) and while my lenses were not so cheap (600 rm) - the whole cost of buying a new pair of glasses here was substantially cheaper than what I would have paid in the States. The cost of the exam, btw, was waived because the frames I chose were over 300 rm. There were a lot of nice styles in the shop too - Marc Jacobs, some nice Japanese brands that were lightweight, ect.
I will definitely be coming back here for all my optical needs and if you have a specialized condition I highly recommend this shop as well.

β β β β β Of all the opticians i've been to, Vantage is so far the best in terms of service, testing and everything. Victoria is a pleasure to work with. She is really knowledgeable, and explained my eye condition to me clearly and in detail. The testing process was really thorough too. All in all, their prices are keen, their service is top class. This is my first time here, and it definitely wont be my last. Yes, i highly recommend them.
