★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If u plan to have a brunch, go between 11am to 12pm. Less ppl and probably no need to queue. Food served are descent, coffee also not so bad. Not a place for romantic ambience lah.. too noisy but great place for meeting up friends and chit chat. I had turkish style eggs.. very tasty, highly recommended.

She was v apologetic yet v prompt to offer alternatives to our plant based request!
A great lovely place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Planned brunch at VCR, more misses than hits. The good side was the helpful service staff, the food however was lack luster. Some ok, some meh, nothing bad but nothing to make we want to come back either. Their baked goods looked interesting though especially the croissant and teacakes but we didn't get any to try as we went elsewhere.
Turkish style eggs, nice runny yolks and love the pistachios on top. Served with 2 sourdough slices. Too sweet but other than that, it was ok.
I quite liked the prawns and grits dish, especially the odd addition of fern shoots but it's also the fern shoots that was the downfall of this dish. They basically chucked the whole plant stalk in along with the tougher part that were older than a grandmother. Couldn't even chew let alone try to swallow.
No churn espresso ice cream on top of a brioche french toast. With side of raspberry compote and crumbles, ok nothing particularly interesting.
Softshell crab burger and big breakfast were average. Decent coffee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My son ordered the chicken & waffle (26 rm) & it was good. I ordered the beetroot salad (24 rm) & wasn’t impressed. It was like a small side salad. I asked the waitress, “This is it?” She replied, “Yes but it’s good & tasty.” It wasn’t. It was bland, very little salad, sprinkle of rice puff & beetroot. For that price, you would think it would be wow. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had to come in super early at 8.30ish since the place gets packed pretty fast. Really friendly staff (nice young lady at the counter was super chill and friendly).
We were unable to order the California soul since the fried chicken batter takes a while to prepare (45 minutes or so). Had the VCR hotcakes with the yuzu ice cream. A bit too thick for my taste. Everything on it with the nuts and ice cream was great. The avacado toast and the potato mash was excellent as well. Finished it all with a lime coconut bar.
Good and fast service. Would come again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was good. Full house on a Thursday afternoon.. quite unexpected for me but then again, i barely go to bangsar so who am I to say ?
Got my table fairly quickly with the waiter setting up a sharing table for myself. Came alone so seating wasn't an issue. In a party of 4 or more, likely some wait time. Waiters and waitresses were all very energetic and friendly, which was nice.
Got an iced latte and their carbonara cause its one of the best sellers I think. Both were great!
Would definitely come back again ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you make it to wake up earlier, this cafe in Bangsar open by 7:30am onwards, nice place and not so crowded.
But after 8am, it will be loaded with full of customers.
My wife and I had Cold Brew to kick start our day. Follow by VCR Big Breakfast and VCR English Muffin.
Everything great and I loved this place. Service was nice and warm, will visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very unexpected experience, coming to cafe expecting just simple food. But VCR offers both best food and coffee experience. Their ingredients offers justify the price of the food. Portion is big, and ingredient used is quality.
When it comes to coffee.
I have tried multiple cafe with their espresso, this is one of the best I have tried.
Their latte doesn't lose out either, good milk temperature control that retain the milk sweetness and proper extraction of the espresso give fruitiness and blend of chocolaty taste.
