The food here is pretty bad. Ordered a meatball with mash set, but was very disappointed as the mushroom sauce reeked of a sour musky taste. There are limited seating available at this joint, and it gets pretty crowded during the lunch hours.

The food as so many reviews have stated are just so so. Mostly are grab and go stuff like pastries and pre packed local dishes like meehun and western dishes like quarter chicken. Had cappacino and it was like milk with a dash of coffee. No taste and I should have known seeing it prepared in front of me. The thing is the rubbish left on the unfinished floor really seal the deal for this place to be given bad ratings. There are other outlets of Village Grocers cafe which do better so no excuse.

I go to Village Grocer for groceries and stop for a break at the Village cafe. We ordered 2 coffees, a Pandan Layer cake at RM11.00 and some bread. The staff who took our order was grumpy and had a perpetual scorn on his face. It was not a good start. As we set out to take a seat at the seating area, the place was trashed. No one was there to clear the table and most tables are dirty. We had to practically clean our table before we sat. The bread and coffee was great. But the cake was not as I expected. I actually compared the cake to a similar one I had in Coffeology in Melaka, which melts in the mouth, and tasted superb. I would suggest the management to put up signs for patrons to pick up and clear their own tables after meal, if Village Cafe is so short of staff. But leaving the tables dirty and unkempt is definitely a no-no.

Decent place for a quick lunch. Price is relatively okay. Menu items comes in the local and western forms. Nasi lemak and meehoon to grill chicken, spaghetti, salads, a d meatballs. Dont expect great flavours, but its definitely a spot out of the norm for a quick meal.
