Tot of trying this place and ordered via grabfood.it was such a disaster. All 3 items was on the recommended list, but all 3 is just disappointing. I ordered the glass noodle with prawn , taste-wise really cannot, the worse part is the prawns are not even fresh. Next, tom yum clear, taste wise acceptable, however same thing prawns all not fresh. Last is phad krapow moo, taste wise ok buttttt it's swimming in oil. As u can see in the photo just every mouthful of oil. And it's not cheap la total bill rm92, lucky I used grab promo but its still rm72 for truly unedible food. Shall not order again and not recommended.

Pre Valentine Day celebration with parents. ❤Cherish evry moment with yr love ones. Food portion are generously big enough at least for 4pax per plate and service by waiter or waitresses are good as well. Boss are very friendly and has great sense of humour. Has great interaction with clients which made our dining experience a very memoriable one. Food are excellent as well. Do drop by to try out if you fancy Thai Food. Truly value for yr time money and tummy

Great hospitality by Mr.Daniel. Food is good. Our regular Thai Food outlet was closed. So we decided to try it out at Wang Thai. No regrets, now another good Thai Food loc.

Thai food can be a little bit of a hit or miss. Rarely would you find a Thai restaurant in Penang that has good food that comes close to what you'd find in Thailand itself, as most of these places would have tweaked their recipes to suit local tastes. These tweaks can be disastrous - dishes might come out too sweet or salty, not spicy enough etc, and eventually the restaurant's reputation would be seriously wounded. Though Wang Thai has been around for some time now, I've never stepped in this place for fear of it being another one of those restaurants I just described above. However, I was totally blown away, and then some. Nestled in the cosy Pulau Tikus neighbourhood along a row of legacy shoplots that have been around since the 1960s, Wang Thai presents itself with nice, comfortable decor, good service and super reasonable prices. Parking in the evening hours is usually easy to get, during the day, you might have to hunt a bit. The seating in this restaurant is very well arranged in two sections on the left and right with a middle pathway that runs from the front to the back of the restaurant. The mix of round and rectangular tables will fit most diners with ease. Food here is top notch. I ordered the pork green curry which was delicious - one of the best ever tasted. The curry was super rich and aromatic. Seafood tom yum kung was teeming with fresh seafood in it, Pandan fried chicken was perfectly fried and the chicken was still juicy. The papaya salad was a little spicy, but was really good. And the kangkong belachan was a little overspiced, which was a little too salty from the excess shrimp paste used. Prices are really reasonable and portions are good. For a party of three when I patronised this place, we had just enough food, and had a bit left over for the ubiquitous Mango sticky rice for dessert. One complaint about this - the rice was overly sweet and the santan should have had a bit of salt in it to balance the sweetness of the mango. Apart from these comments, I have no complaints about this place and am a convert. Will definitely be back again!

Mar.14 2022 Lunch set with reasonable price, cozy environment. Food taste good, personally I like less salty, so can reduce the strong taste. It goes with a drink. Mar.20 2022 Dinner: Pawn cake is crispy and tasty. Pai thai is delicious with some raw beans sprouts on the side, I like it. Chicken feet salad is great, a bit spicy. Mango sticky rice as dessert, sticky rice is a bit hard, can cook longer. Overall is good.

I heard any great things about Wang Thai and came here during the Mother's day weekend. We were greeted by a nice gentleman even though we did not make RSVP. He managed to squeeze us in during the busy weekend. The menu was easy to navigate with colorful details. With regard to the food. They were surprised, as authentic as I can remember when I was in Bangkok. Great flavor and spicy. Absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful mother's day dinner here and looking to come back in the near future.
