Kuey Teow soup with pork and pork spare parts. Our kids like the dry noodles and we like the kuey teow soup. Reasonably priced. Service is fast and friendly. Also serving Hakka Yong Tau Fu (bean curd with stuffed fillings). Tasted delicious and fresh, not too oily and just nice. The chilli is mixed with vinegar, salt and chilli, which goes well with the Yong tau fu and pork.

Terrible service and lousy food quality. Just look at the soup. They use to serve good food.

Lunch here. A bit pricey, but the soup is flavourful. Overall it's ok.

Restoran Wang Xiang Noodle is a corner restaurant selling noodles and soup located opposite the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Johor Bahru. There are tables and seats both indoors and outdoors (Not in the sun, but closer to the road and under the shade in a more windy area). Staff there are eager to take your order after providing you with the menus. Eager enough to come off as pushy as they will lean on the table and stand around your table with their notepads. They are not however rude when conversing with you. The restaurant specialises in essentially two types of noodles, and their soup. Their Kolok Mee, which you can have with mee hoon, mee or kueh tiaw noodles, and soup noodles which again can be served with one of the three types of noodles. You can order the noodles as a set that comes with soup or on its own. Do not expect the 'Kolok Mee' to have toppings or to look like the standard 'Kolo Mee' as the shop's variation is quite different. It does share one similarity with other 'Kolo Mee'(s) by having soup on the side. They also have rice as an optional add-on. There is no elaboration on the menu as to what the sauce served on it is. The restaurant provides six options for the soup if you want to drink it on its own. The main and probably the only difference between them is the meat or organ parts used. The type of organ will enhance the flavour of the soup in different ways. They have liver, kidney and meatball versions as examples. The soup has a very brothy and slight meaty taste to it. I have never known it to be too salty, and its presence to balance out the meal works well. You can have it before the heavy carbs or after to aid with digestion. They also have other side dishes, take their bittergourd or brinjal for instance. They taste quite delicious. The only thing is misleading is the quantity. Sure it is not specified, however you would expect a minimum of four or five pieces. They serve you two or three pieces per serving. Air is constantly circulated around, in and out of the restaurant with fans and other equipment. Beverages are average-priced. The overall experience is similar to a casual afternoon or Sunday lunch.

The pork noodles in this restaurant are very special. The meat slices are very smooth when put in the mouth, and the soup has a strong flavour with delicious, which may be related to the restaurant's choice of using charcoal to cook the food. By the way, my Sabah friend thinks this pork noodle is able to maintains the local flavour.

A choice of dry or soup which I chose the former. The noodles were coated with dark soy sauce and shallot oil. I had expected a more pronounced shallot flavor. Cook till Al dente. The soup was cloudy with mild flavor, filled with minced & lean meat, intestine and liver. All of them were tender but too thinly sliced for my liking. Chili was spicy and hit the right notes. Service is quick and food is served to table.
