β β β β β I frequent this eatout a lot. It only open in the evenings. Features a wide range of chinese styled cooking.
A handicap for this place is the range of drink offered. There is only one choice for coffee namely white coffee. Most of the drinks are either bottled drinks or syrups. Usual cooling tea and chrysanthemum tea are available but the choice do not usually extend further than that.
Price range is affordable but seafood and whole fishes can raise the bill quite a bit.
The restaurant opens by 6pm, I recommend to arrive before 7pm or it can be difficult to park your car considering there are other restaurants and pubs nearby.
The staff is friendly and they will accept certain peculiarities for your dishes such as no beansprouts or add some toufu to the soup.
Food is always fresh, do ask about the range of fresh vegetables they have for the day. Shellfish are also available depending stock.
Place is tidy but the washrooms could use some polish.
Good place if you eat alone as they will dowsize your portions, ideal for family dining.

β β β β β Nice Chinese food (Chu Char) and Xin Chern has been around for many years. I personally like the fried bitter gourd and egg. Try it out with family and friends.

1) overall - clean environment, friendly and kind service, plenty of parking, reasonable price, Cantonese cuisine for Xin Chern Restaurant
2) salted egg tofu looked cute with the appearance and it tasted above average, personally think that the egg coating was a little too thick for my liking
3) claypot curry fish - fish was very fresh, generous ingredient but the curry tasted overpowering with the spices

β β β β β A good place to get Chinese economy rice for lunch. The food are quite tasty and not bad. The pricing is not that so expensive. The place is clean and well aired, not humid. Located just beside Subaidah. Parking might be difficult to get during certain hours.

β β β β β Xin Chern Restaurant offers wide variety of Chinese stir fry dishes. They also had cap fan (economy mixed rice) stall within their shop as well. We tried the curry with fish meat and salted egg tofu. The claypot curry fish has a very strong indian powdery curry flavor to it and the salted egg tofu tasted pretty good, just that the batter is a bit too thick in my opinion.

β β β β β A mixed place with economy food and regular ordering. Foods tasty. Price for regular ordering is on the higher side. Going in groups is the best way to taste many dishes. Place can get full during lunch hours. Hard to find free parking just around the restaurant. Very small wait for the food to arrive. The economy side has about 20 dishes to choose from.

β β β β β Serving speed just nice, helpful n kind staff. Must try their Signature salted egg tofu, it's really nice! The butter prawns and other dishes are good as well.. just that the vege is slightly too salted, hence minus 1 star for that. Overall great dining experience n the price is reasonable.
