★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you can't get o Bukit Mertajam for yam rice, this is much the same. Rice is fragrant and soup is good. All at reasonable pricing. Shop is also clean but the practice of placing tables and chairs out at the walkway causes much inconvenience to pedestrians. Also the area is always congested during lunch hours. Note there is another shop beside it also selling yam rice. Although the next shop seems to have better rice, the lesser crowd here makes dining less hectic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The yam rice is served with several dishes such as mixed pork (meat, ball and intestines, salt veg) soup. Tau kua and egg, pock trotter etc. Taste is good except the soup is a bit too salty to my liking compared with my earlier visits.

Yam rice's soup is more to sour from the sour/salted vegetable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Salted vege mixed pork soup is delicious with generous ingredients, yam rice was moist & fluffy. Lots of locals eating here, fast service. Side dishes of braised pork knuckle, tofu & egg are nice.
