Taste: 5/5 ⭐ | Service: 4/5 ⭐ | Ambience: 5/5 ⭐ Price: RM53 | Number of pax: 2 Found this speakeasy-like café, Yue Coffee Bar. This café has no signboard so it’s a little bit difficult to find, but it’s right above a car workshop. We started off with Houjicha Latte and Cold Brew Orange. The foam on top of the Houjicha Latte was more thick than foamy. Overall, it was creamier than most Houjicha Lattes elsewhere and it had a tinge of sweetness. The Cold Brew Orange was nice and refreshing as it was made using fresh orange juice. We saw that they actually express the citrus oil from the orange peel into the drink which is a technique you don’t see much in cafés as it is a more common technique in bars. We also had the Dirty Latte and it was GOOD. You can really taste the layers of flavours from the coffee crema and milk. It was very creamy and smooth, like drinking silk. We also ordered a Pain au Chocolat which was crispy and nice. Best item of the visit: Dirty Latte Will we return: Yes Follow on Instagram @mealtimeagain

A nice little cafe to chill in the middle of Cheras. It's not been long since their new space has opened up but when I first visited, the place felt almost like a hidden bar ? It's quite difficult to tell where the cafe is located in exact because it's upstairs, there's no signage and the door leading upstairs was quite obscure. I only noticed it when I saw some very well-dressed young people exiting the doorway because they did not dress like the locals did in this row of shops tucked amid the residential neighborhood. Not a bad experience but maybe having a little signage could be helpful. Upon entering the space, you are greeted by beautiful daylight entering the spaces through their partially translucent roofing. It feels so open and relaxing. I just love what they have done with the space. Unfortunately, the handbrew beans were out along with a couple of other items so I couldn't try them out. I was really looking forward to their handbrew though. Black tonic was okay. Can't say it was bad. But unsure if it was my preference for coffee. If I took it like a mocktail, it feels kinda refreshing. The Jinxuan Oolong was unexpected. It was very good. I think the last time I had tasted a substantially good Chinese tea at a cafe was at Three Little Birds. The food menu was quite limited with some items sold out. Due to allergies, I ordered my Bruschetta without the chicken ? Definitely an awkward order. Thanks for trying to accommodate to my awkward order. Can't comment much as I understand this wasn't the intended recipe for the dish but the service was definitely accomodating. However I do think the sourdough can be improved. The sourdough bread texture and appearance looks like it might have been under fermented? Maybe fermentation duration is slightly short or maybe the starter ratio or something is a little off. It's still an okay slice of bread. Just not exactly sourdough as you might expect it to be. Toilet is very clean. Limited seatings due to space limitation and might need to be on waiting list if you turn up during peak hours. Service is very accomodating because they do not rush customers to leave just because of a waiting list building up. Space is very comfortable. Maybe the sun roof design need a little modification because it can get burning hot in the middle of the afternoon for anybody taking the seats under these roofs (especially considering how extreme Malaysian weather can get and also the cost involved in cooling down the space). Moderately difficult to locate parking but there are quite a lot of parking bays in that row. Will return to try out more.

Having learned about this place from soc med, I was curious and wanted to check out the environment. So I drove up early on a weekend morning and had a pleasant breakfast. Despite arriving before 9am, I was not the earliest. Clearly, other folks had the same idea as well. The place has a rustic charm to it and the food is good. I like their coffee and would definitely come back to try other items on their menu. However, I would advise the best time to visit would be in the morning as the place is not air conditioned and it could get warm in the afternoon despite the presence of several ceiling fans.

Hidden Coffee Place in Cheras Yue Coffee Bar isn't exactly new kids on the block - previously located in a wooden kampung house in Batu 11, deep inside Cheras which is nearer to Baking and Kajang .. they have since moved to a new place in Taman Taynton Cheras which is nearer from PJ. Dang I didn't make it to their previous location. No signage whatsoever - your best bet is to search for No.46, look up and spot two wooden chairs plus a table on the first floor.. and you are there! I reached there around 10am++ and the crowd was strong, luckily we managed to get a table. The cafe exudes a calm morning vibe, utilising natural lighting to brighten up the entire place filled with simple furnitures. Potted plants were placed at part of the cafes, and I spotted a retro chair which I loved to seat on when I was a kid. ◾ham & cheese sandwich - this combo could never go wrong. The fact that I had not eaten my breakfast, it tasted even better. ◾Flat white - got a nod of approval from her as she took her first sip. ◾filter coffee - I was in the mood for something nice that day and it didn't disappoint. Using pour over method to bring out the best flavour of the beans, I got the fruity and chocolatey notes. ◾matcha latte - default choice of the eldest daughter ◾lemonade - the 2 younger ones were simpler and shared between them. Chinese musics were heard playing through Marshall speakers as we proceed to enjoy our coffee (and others) + breakfast. I don't mind coming again when I'm in the area.

April 2022 1. The "Insta" photo of the place is no longer representative of this cafe. That was their previous place, they have since moved upstairs a shop lot. The entrance is not marked. 2. Coffee is good, especially the Dirty Latte. Something unique 3. Customer service needs improvement. Waiter not very friendly - indifferent attitude. Mars the experience. 4. Food choices is limited to bread and big breakfasti type. Thankfully the area is surrounded by other good food options.

Relocated from original place, where the building was like a old school library, nostalgic feeling. Sad to know they are no more existing there. This new location cafe is already different style, as a cafe it's very good but pity no longer operating original place. Their coffee is nice, nutty side though slight flat. Still liked it.

Like a hidden coffee bar, you need to pay close attention to the surroundings to spot the entrance to this place. The stairways is just right next to a car workshop. Interior is just plain simple with the main coffee bar area being the only nice fixture. The rest of the seating tables & chairs are just a mixture of new & recycled furniture, peppered with some potted plants & collectibles here & there. The latte was nice but served in a small cup. The cold brewed orange was not my type of drink, it was a mixture of coffee infused with some orange brewed overnight presumably. Should have ordered something more familiar…… anyway not much in the menu. Food options is limited. Most people come to have a cuppa it seems.
