Staff was inexperienced and prices over inflated. A box of Panadol Extra was RM18 before discount compared to RM11.20 at Guardian’s!! All other items were about 20-30% mark up! Although the Filipina staff was friendly & helpful, she did not know the products well and needed to check with the boss and her son. At check out, we bought a lot of stuff and her son, the cashier while serving us asked if we could allow others with 1-2 items to go first. Initially we agreed but after 3 customers, I told him if there were 10 customers with 1-2 items, I would be waiting a long time and penalised for buying more! He was distracted and double scanned one of the Panadol boxes. We were charged for 15 boxes when we only took 14 boxes. After we left the shop and went into Guardian Pharmacy for items they did not have, we realised everything esp the Panadol was overpriced. We returned and asked for either a refund or take more boxes of the Panadol. The son said no but we approached the pharmacist who was also the mom and boss. Initially, she was reluctant till I raised my voice and she finally agreed to the refund of the Panadol boxes. We bought RM1300 plus of goods and was only refunded for the Panadol costing about RM300 plus. She said we should have checked prices before buying. We expected mark ups of 10-20%, but not as high as 70%! We were overcharged for the remainder of the items but could not refund. One medicine was even as high as RM45 more compared to another pharmacy. She said her pharmacy, one of three branches in KL did not have economy of scale compared to the bigger pharmacies. Anyway, do not patronise this pharmacy. As a foreigner, we did not know.

Prices are marked, but they’re higher than retail. A 250ml bottle of Listerine costs 15.90 here, compared to full retail price of RM10.90 at Guardian & Watsons. Stick to the guardian pharmacy across the street, the most you’ll pay there is retail.
