★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's getting more and more difficult to walk, the trail is particularly spoiled, but it is ok for hiking. And the point tells you that soon you will reach the Monkey Beach! Go on :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ That's where the trail gets nasty: slippery boulders, fallen branches, broken bridges. A made-do crossing over a landslide of 10m in width, constructed with 2 thin logs and two ropes barely within reach. The good thing is it is 95% shaded and you don't feel hot at all. Shoes with better grip will help.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The way to Monkey Beach is easy walk. Some small wood staircases, sometimes just forest trails, a couple of time beaches crossing. Also a couple of careful passages, mostly equipped with solid rope handrails. You can be surprised by wild animals as monkeys (male can be aggressive in Love Season) or Monitor Lizard (local variety of komodo)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was an exciting trek. The path needs maintenance. This path is closed but we still trek it because my husband is an experienced trekker. I would suggest that walking with a trekking pole is not a bad idea. It can be used to chase away monkeys and also to give one some stability. It was a lovely and some technical in some part of the walk like tree roots hanging very low, climbing over logs (due to last landslide).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ from teluk bahang once you enter the area, the staff will have ur temperature check and then they will offer you the package to go pantai kerachut or to muka head(rumah api).
if you're heading to muka head they will offer you boat ride in few minutes reach monkey beach and from there hike to muka head and then back to the center. the price for the boat transfer rm100 per pax. for pantai kerachut juat trek from the centre to kerachut and then back to center by boat with trip along the muka head to monkey beach and back to center. cost around rm170 perpax i think.
it was an absurd price as to me my ferry trip with aircond from mersing to tioman return ticket costed me only rm70.
so i said i will be trekking all the way.
the reason why they offer boat trip was because the trek was poorly maintained. Many wooden path broken and metal stairs cracked.
i didn't make it to muka head since a friend of mine already mentally unprepared for the challenge. quite frustrated since i had my knee soaring in pain for nothing. at least if reach up to muka head it worth the pain.
so yeah if you are planning for a good hike, take with u a friend with the same sets of mind preparedness.
another thing once the trek reach the cemacs center, if the tide is high u will not see the path that leads to the monkey beach. just walk pass the cemacs beach to the end of the otherside.
you will see written on the stone arrow to the path monkey beach.
