★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the old couple’s friendliness and their crispy apom! It’s my checklist whenever I’m in Penang. Their original apom has either black or white sugar and the black sugar flavour is nicer in my opinion! Seeing it’s in the middle of all the famous Penang food area I wonder why there’s no rating or review of them! Decided to help them post up their opening hours so people can try :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ He is sometimes on the other corner closer to Cintra Lane. Opens at 7am and close by noon. I was there at noon and bought the last couple of cold pieces. Prefer it hot though. Rm1.20 for peanuts and Rm1.40 for corn.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Managed to try this finally!! It's one of those dishes unique to Penang which I considered is part of Penang Food Heritage. Was recommended by a local to try the egg version. Indeed it was good!! Very fragrant and soft in the center while crispy at the edges. Must try if you are in the area!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This stall serves up the kind of crispy local egg pancake that’s thin and is perfect as a snack. Ask for the additional egg variety and it’s more filling. With extra egg, it’s only 3 ringgit for five pieces. What a bargain for an old taste of Penang. Eat them piping hot at the coffee shop next to it, and enjoy the hustle-bustle of the morning “pasar” crowd going about their purchases of breakfast, fish, meat, undies (not kidding), herbs and even bedsheets at the Campbell Street/Chowrasta wet market. This sure brings me back to my childhood days in Butterworth.
