I’ve a chance to speak to Miss Krishna on one occasion when she called to express her concern about my son. While I appreciate her concern, my son informed me that she was very biased and strictly leaned towards the smart students only and this affected him badly as he felt extremely discouraged in the subject. She was often 10-15 minutes late for classes and would give excuses to justify her tardiness. I hope that she can improve her teaching skills and work on her punctuality.

Poor Internet Connection In School - Demotivated pupil due to constant disconnection I noticed for the past week ,teachers were teaching from their classrooms in school and online lessons did not run as smooth as it should be. During my child’s lesson, the teacher kept disconnecting and it was very obstructive to the learning for the children. My child told me , it is normal as their school wifi connection is bad. It seemed that my child have better quality learning experience when the teachers were teaching from home faced less disruption. Please think for the children. It is very bad that the child happily engaged in their lesson for minutes and frustrated the next due to disconnection . Aren't your teachers supposed to teach from home at the first place? Why are teachers still going to school during the CMCO? Is there a reason for this?

I have noticed many changes in this school that are very good and constant improving. However, I do not like this one teacher called Miss Krishna. Many of my son's friends say she like to scold everytime and always compare student. She also like to encourage only the smarter students like she only call names of the smarter students and everytime before exam, my son say she will tell the class who she thinks will get high marks and she will only look at certain peoples. I absolutely do not like this. Students that are not so smart are still students. This is the worst experience my son ever complains to me. I never complain but this sounds serious. I hope there is somethings you will do about this. She is good teacher overall but as parent, I feel the need to address this issues. So please dont take personal because this is just constructive criticism.

I disagree about the facts of ms.krishna as a teacher she has been super motivating and cheerful towards the students who were weak and has brought up many students. She's never once spoken badly or wanted a student to feel discouraged but if so you thought maybe your wrong and overall she's a great teacher who has produced excellent results in geography. I know for a fact not only Ms.Krishna has been a great teacher for this school but every other teacher has too and not once have they been biased towards a student or brought any child down but only truly motivating and helpful.

As a recent graduate from this school as the class of 2021, I would like the future generations and parents that may enquire about this school to know some of my opinions. Beaconhouse is an extremely irresponsible school. Nothing can be taken seriously here. First of all, some teachers are not on par to what you can call them as 'international school teachers'. Bias, unmotivating, and there are only a few teachers that I treat as actual teachers. The food from 2018 till now hasn't been improved by the slightest, having to PAY extra for 'better' food. I can't lie though, the fees are considered decent compared to other international schools, but in the end, I'd rather go to a homeschool. Sports here are completely forgotten unlike other international schools. Not challenging, irresponsible schedules and most importantly, they would NOT do anything in favor for the athletes. I still feel sorry for being so kind to student athletes on Open Day, telling them "Oh don't worry, I will do my best to help out in that situation." But no one listened to me. Lastly, the studies here are to be honest, not as bad unless your teachers are the ones that are considered 'teachers'. Forgot to mention, this school is taking forever just to post some mail to me, for the Virtual Run they had. My final words are if you are a student that will study continuously without distraction, this school wouldn't be a harm to you. However, if you are dependable on the teaching, coaching if you are an athlete, and want to have a decent diet, unfortunately this is not the school for you. The only thing that i appreciated here in Beaconhouse, is my friends, few PE teachers and a few Year 11 teachers. Nothing else :)

I asked for the person in charge but apparently they were to busy to talk for a maximum of 10 minutes so I will post a public review since privately, nothing will be resolved. Before I state my complain, I would want to acknowledge that the school food is getting reasonably better and my friends kids agree too as well as my own. Now for the problem that has been bothering a number of mothers. I speak for them as I acknowledge this problem and I hope it will be resolved and the actions taken will cater to our needs as parents who work hard to pay for the education of our children. I did not understand and never will understand why the Year 11's have a progression test. It baffles me and other parents honestly. It is quite convenient that I am speaking for them for if not, you will have multiple bad reviews. It is highly so gullible to put the progressive test on February when it should be in January or after the BM igcses has finished. My son and his friends never said any good things about their BM teacher last year. I have not met her personally but apparently she barely teached what they needed to do and they have ZERO practice for their BM igcse and with barely any work, how do you expect one to pass? I made my decision to complain yesterdays because my son came home sobbing saying he is clueless on what to do for their very approaching BM igcse and is more stressed about the irresponsible progressive test. He told me they should have made the progressive test earlier so they could have the whole February to practice and practice for their BM IGCSE. But, no. This irresponsible decision is so unnecessary. I even spoke to my friends child who recently graduated just last year, and she said it was worthless, the progression test was worthless. So please, LISTEN and stop this. This is such a huge toll on students mental health so please LISTEN to us. Don't make it the way the teachers or the management want, but listen to the opinions of the teachers and students too. Plus with the whole of their year 10 being online, they barely grasped much only about 70% so how to the teachers expect them to perform even if it is just a simple progressive test. If the teacher would want to access the students, they should give them worksheets to do in class and to submit IN class so the teacher can mark and the student and teacher can see where they are at. This progressive test is simply so unnecessary and I hope whoever's in charge cancels this progressive thing and focus on an ACTUAL igcse coming very soon. This is the opinions of many concern mothers and fathers. I really wanted to recommend this school to my other friends as the price and service is reasonable but after my son came home sobbing, it is a huge NO from me. Maybe if the management discusses and makes the RIGHT decision both wanted by the students and parents, then I would OF COURSE recommend this improving school to my friends as there is so much improvement and the moment my son came back sobbing, I saw all the improvement as zero. Please take note that this is not only my son but many many other students too who feel so scared and pressured. So, I hope whoever listens to us and do what's best which in my and many others opinion, to amend the progressive test which is deemed useless and focus on the ACTUAL igcse. Then if necessary, can have mini tests here and there and many worksheets to test progress of students, not in this rushed manner. I have to say though, props to the school as many teachers are improving. I particularly want to shout out biology teacher, Ms. Ruibini and Add maths teacher, Mr, Dave. My son and his friends say they are the best teachers and I have personally seen them too. Sorry for my long essay but I hope you do read it and LISTEN. THANK YOU SO MUCH BSI

As a ex-student of Beaconhouse I can say that the good things about this school is that some teachers were very nice and teacher teach things necessary and some staff members were very kind, but the bad things of this school is that some teachers would be very harsh on their students just for making a few mistakes. Some teachers would also scold students that were late to class even though they had a valid reason. most of the sub-teachers wouldn't give any work to the class and just sit there doing nothing. The school food is not bad but not that good, some of the food were expensive, sometimes if a kid got hurt, the nurse wouldn't be there and you would have to find the nurse around the school. When it is after school most teachers would be in the classroom's or at the pick up area to call the child's names, and when the teachers are gone some students like to climb on things, like the gates, and since the teachers are not there some other students would have to tell the other student to not do it. Sometimes when it is recess when the teachers call your name it is either too loud or cannot be heard from the canteen which makes the guardian having to wait longer or call the child. Most of the teacher's are nice but mostly in year 10 or 11 the teachers are more biased, my sister started to have depression from this and having to put up with this teacher for a year, sometimes she would say that the teachers teaching language's would either be totally wrong in pronouncing or the word does not mean what it actually is. During the pandemic and it was physical class, the teachers wouldn't take the SOP's seriously and let the student's do whatever they want, like getting close to each other, or touching things, and so on. When I first got into the school in year 2, the homeroom teacher would be biased towards me or scold me for something not so serious, in year 3 the teacher would usually target me because I was always late but I had valid reasons. the history teacher in year 4 and 5 would sometimes have test's but some questions were questions we did not know and she would say things like "I told you guys about this before, didn't I?" most of the test were things we have not learned before.

As a ex student in this school, I surely did experience bad things here. Most teachers were very unfair and biased towards students. They would sometimes scold children for coming in late despite them having a reason for being so. The food was also another problem. The fact that parents are required to pay extra money just for their child to be served food is ridiculous. If the school wants us to pay extra money just for the students to be fed, then at least serve actual good food. Most of the food served in the school either looked unappetizing or the people who worked in the canteen didn't serve enough. The nurse is also nuisance. Whenever they are needed, they are either not in their office or would sometimes refuse to talk to injured students just because they are "busy". Either way, this school did give me good memories in terms of the students and some really kind teachers who treated the students equally as they should be. But I would definitely not recommend to bring anyone's child to this school.
