Only 5 stars hotel in Tioman

facilities and service are good but the chalets are a bit old refurbishment needed urgently

Despite the hotel the dive shop does a good job! Good equipment, reasonable prices and friendly staff

Excellent place for your snorkeling and scuba needs. The island has some amazing corals and fish. They organize nice trips for the water lover.

We went to Tioman hoping for a wonderful dive experience but the Dive master there, made the whole experience horrible. Very horrible attitude, no respect, doesn't know how to communicate and full of attitude. PLEASE DON'T DIVE FROM THIS DIVE CENTER. I hope someone from the Berjaya Management takes an action against the Dive Master here

We were a group of four divers, attended by a dive master, who was really rude with us. He didn't treat everyone equally and was not able to communicate well. I really wish Berjaya resort take action on him.

We were shopping around for a school to do multiple diving activities with as a family including an advanced diver course package. As we were staying in Berjaya we went to this dive centre to enquire about prices and details at around 3 pm. First no one was there except for a man blasting his music, he told us we had to wait for the dive employee. We waited for a moment and this man appeared and instead of assisting (we were clearly waiting for him at the counter) he asked us what we wanted in a cocky manner. We said firstly we want to know more about prices for the asd course and fun dive and he just jabbed at the board in front of the counter and grunted. As time went on and as we pressed for more information he started to talk a little more but overall he was extremely unpleasant to deal with and had an entitled, off putting and condescending demeanor. He tried pressing us to sign a release form even before he could actually fill the instructors name in which we refused. As experienced divers who take our dives seriously, it was difficult to trust him and feel at ease and we all know how important the choice of instructors is. He did not treat us in a way that remotely even acknowledges the pursuant fact. and I even asked him in fear that we would end up 30 + meters underwater with this guy if he can tell us more about instructors to which he chose to answer in a racial context : 'you want what type? Malay? Chinese? Ang Moh?' He was simply distasteful. This man's name is Francis, we actually ended up finding a wonderful instructor in tekek village (ABECT) and had the best experience. Take your money to these smaller places who truly cares about your experience and don't bother wasting your time dealing with experiences like this. Perhaps they have great instructors, unfortunately I didn't get to find out because Francis was very effective at being the thorn in the organisations branch and we couldn't get past even one conversation with him.

Warren (our son) and I qualified (PADI) there 29 years ago and dived from there many times since, during that same era. The instructors and people there during that time were magic and became good friends! Clearly some time has passed since then and now. Sad to hear of its clear demise :( . Does anyone out there have any contact details or whereabouts details for Richard, Dorothy (Dot?), Foo and Barry (I think his name was :) ) .
