Was wondering why it was called Big Tree hawker centre and upon reaching there, found it was it between several large trees which made it shady and cooling to eat. Highly recommend the Yong Tau Foo which is larger in portion and generous in the filling.

This is a restaurant that serves yong tau fu and some unique drinks in Ipoh. It is very popular among the Ipoh residents. It is a comfortable setup. The restaurant has a high ceiling with good ventilation. The restaurant has a wide variety of yong tau fu choices. Their food choices are fresh, generous in size and taste good. Their drinks are the usual coffee shop drinks with some smoothies available. Their red bean paste smoothie, sweet corn smoothie and dragon fruit smoothie are recommended. Prices are reasonable. Transactions are in cash only. Service is reasonable. Cleanliness is acceptable. Parkings are roadside parkings. May have difficulty finding a parking slot during peak hours. Patrons on wheelchairs are able to patronize this restaurant.

Very good yong tau foo. Cheapest I found so far, rm1/pc. Must try Ipoh specialty. The red bean ice drink is also delicious.

There are 2 shops selling the same stuff side by side. Looking at it from the front, the left shop is the original and the right an offshoot… (originally they were on the right, I think they had a falling out with the drinks seller) Truth be told, both of them serve very good noodles with good Yong tau Foo, the original edges it out slightly. The right shop does have more options for drinks and have more diverse other food shops too… so if you want more variety choose the right shop. For the best YTF the left ‘original’ shop is best. Beware of wait times in festive/public holidays… it gets really crowded… But just enjoy your wait!
