★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In this vicinity of Pasir Pinji, two stalls bearing great names, Big Tree Head (大樹頭) and Big Tree Foot (大樹脚), compete for the business of serving the best 'yeong tau fu' in Ipoh town. Hard to say which one is better. All the food stalls here (beside these 2) are housed under big shady trees.
Here I would review on Big Tree Foot (大樹脚). A great eatery stall for a satisfying meal of noodles and 'yeong liu' (assortment of fish paste and tofu products, boil-cooked or fried). The laksa, curry or soup noodles are well-done. The fried fish paste products are savoury and crispy. Your eyes would open in amazement at the absolutely so many types of 'liu' (fish paste products) arranged in an attractive array. There are also other food stalls around selling porridges, chee cheong fun, nasi nyonya, rojak, etc. Go for the refreshing blended red bean or green bean ice drinks. A tourist hot spot for Ipoh food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whenever I visit Ipoh, I make time (& tummy space) for this place. My favourite Yong Tau Fu (a dish of various fish-paste stuffed soy products and vegetables), this shop has since split into 3 different outlets, side by side; but I find the one on the rightmost side the better one.
Among the dishes, my favourite is the Sar Kok Liew (fried mashed turnip cake) & the Fried Sui Gow (meat dumplings); eaten with a bowl curry noodles.
End the meal with a bowl of refreshing aiyu bing (iced jelly dessert) for a satisfying meal ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come during weekdays avoid jamming. Weekend super jam and hard to get parking unless come from other state for holiday in Perak. Yummy 'Liew' and assam laksa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big tree foot pasir pinji offer yong tau fu with noodles. Their asam laksa is not bad, to the sweet side. Their speciality would be their ice blended red bean, must try if come here. Some of the yong tau fu is good, some not so. Oh
