★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'll let you in a little secret of mine - I am cheapskate! No.. really! I love eating cheap food and drinking cheap wines. I am on search for places that give me value-for-money dining experience constantly. And since I'm into wine, naturally I will look for good value wines.
Of course, there are many places that serves wine - after all, it's one of the lifestyles nowadays. But do you know that in restaurants, bars, bistros, pubs, etc... the cost of drinking wine is quite high? Do you know that most (if not all) of them make at least 100% margin selling wine to you? I don't want to bore you with the details.
However there are times when I just want to go out and chill and not bringing my own wine. I have a few favourite wine place and this is one of them. Part of Tong Woh (PJ New Town), they have opened this Cellar Eighteen in the popular Tropicana Avenue and it has been going from strength to strength. It is meant to be a retail outlet but they do provide tables and chairs for those who want to buy and consume on the spot. Retail price means cheaper price for us.
◾Luncheon fries - booze without snack sometimes feels a bit empty.
◾Cold cut platter - always my default order to go with the booze that I chose.
◾ on the wine choice - price range from mere RM60 to thousands of ringgit depending on your mood that day. Expensive wines are stored in a dedicated chiller while the rest are available on the display racks. Pictured here were the burgundy and prosecco that I had not long ago.
Apart from wines, they also sell whisky, beer, sake and best thing is that you can drink on the spot too. Food is provided by Ingrained by Ironwoods.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has wide range of Australian and French wines and very reasonably priced, perhaps the cheapest wine bar in town. Good place to relax and hang out. However, the food outlet needs to be improved, it's always not available. I asked for "siu yok" and they told me I need to pre-order ?, should learn from Vintry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this week. A great place for small group business talk or gathering. indoor upstair only allows up to two people per table. For three pax and above need to stay at outdoor in first floor. Fairly good distance between tables. Wines selections are good with reasonable price. Picked up any wines and mineral water on the shelves and paid at the counter. Then they would give the decanter and glasses. Food was great especially the iberico pork collar and the ribeye steak. They gave two mustards, one of which shown in the photo was good and salty. Cheese platter was not available on that day. If you order a second bottle of wine you have to empty the current one then only can exchange with a new clean decanter.
