★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The old adage “good things take time” has never rung more true for the wanton mee from this place. If you don’t mind waiting 30-45 mins for your food to arrive, I promise you will be rewarded with a delicious plate of wanton mee. Springy noodles, and flavorful sauce and wantons. You’ll probably wait seated down anyway so you can order a drink and chat with your friends while waiting for the food arrive. (Sorry that the picture was taken mid-meal; I dove into the food so quickly when it came that I completely forgot to take a picture until I was halfway into my meal).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Previously in Tai Wah Coffee House few units away, the owner selling Wantan Mee at Argyll Road for decades is now moved to the new Chee Meng Cafe opposite of Caltex. Their Wantan Mee is nice with al-dente egg noodle and flavorful broth. Wait time can be slightly longer especially during peak hour as the senior owner patiently preparing the food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some time ago, I only gave the place 3 stars but in my most recent visit on New Year's Day 2021, I found a lot of improvements! This place is now the only wantanmin shop in Penang that serves the southern style wantanmin! No thick soy sauce. The noodles are served 'white'. And the noodles are firm and springy. Not soggy anymore. Excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's tasted like the wtm i used to had when i was young back in my hometown (ipoh). Ordered the dry and soup..The dry 1 wtm: dont have the *overly black soya sauce taste* (which i like)
The price is reasonable too.
Will b back next time i travel to pg?
