★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parit Jawa is the name of this fishing village, 巴东in Chinese. Parit is trench, 沟in Chinese. It's right at the hidden trench a short distance away from the muddy seaside. One of those beautiful traditional Chinese fishing village with many seafood restaurants around. There are two temples side by side, very old. The gods are the protectors of the village and oversee the safe return of the fishermen when they go out to the sea. The villagers are very friendly bit some of them can only speak Chinese dialects.
