β β β β β I went for the βMusic of Star Warsβ concert by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra yesterday night and it was an amazing experience... The orchestra, which was led brilliantly by Belgian conductor Dirk BrossΓ©, played the popular tunes like Main Theme, Imperial March, Princess Leiaβs Theme, and Duel of The Fates so wonderfully that when you close your eyes, itβs like listening to a recording by the composer himself, John Williams!
The hall itself is very ornately designed, in the mold of the great European venues of yesteryear (with the landmark Klais Pipe Organ dominating the stage), and has been very well-maintained in the 20 years since opening. The acoustics of the venue are also top-notch and this was proven when the show started - we were seated in the Upper Circle actually and yet, the music reached our ears very clearly!

β β β β β I think this place is just about the right size for a classical concert venue. It is a bit reminiscent of old European venues with high ceilings and 2 circle levels.
I thought the acouwtj9were very good, and up in the top circle we were very comfortable with a great view.
We only went for a short performance but I would definitely come back.

β β β β β Gorgeous place and top-notch professional performance! Check out the current full-year program on their website, it's diverse and everyone would find something interesting: there are classics from baroque to contemporary period, chamber concerts, organ recitals, OSTs from movies, special local talents and even family-friendly performances to educate and entertain the kids.
The staff is helpful and friendly. We had to buy tickets in the office because there were problems with ordering online. You'll be reminded several times about the dress code which is understandable to support the overall atmosphere. Also having something warm to wrap yourself up is a good idea, it's as chilly as in any mall. There's a small cafeteria to visit during the break. You get a printed copy of the program when you have a seat, it's very informative.
Totally recommend!

β β β β β 5 star in ambiance and staff professionalism. Its a must visit when you are in KL. You will be mesmerized and drawn into another world. The orchestra is world class and they have guest artistes and world-renowned conductors performing throughtout the year.

β β β β β One of my favorite places to visit. I come here at least 5 times a year unless I'm really busy. Acoustics here are Amazing. Orchestra players are talented and professional. Best music we can find in KL.

β β β β β Still my top favourite orchestra in Malaysia for quality music to listen to. Really can't compare a professional orchestra with the others local community orchestra. We paid extra this time for the circle seats and the sound quality and transmitting are superb, is way better than listen to an expensive earpieces. I felt my soul was being cleanse by the music. ??ββοΈ
