โ โ โ โ โ A bar based in the Eastern Oriental Hotel. Interiors are tired and far from the "exclusive private club" atmosphere they claim to have. More like a tacky export Irish bar.
Worse still are the incompetent bar staff who managed to make a diabetic inducing 'old fashioned'. But when asked for a drink that was less sweet, all they did was add ice and water! No apologies, just complete arrogance.
This is not international standard for cocktails or service by any means. A disappointment, all show with not an ounce of substance.

โ โ โ โ โ This bar was among the best stops I made in Malaysia. I want to go back to Penang just to come back here. Regardless of being an overnight guest or just passing through, you should try the fantastic drinks that Farquhar's Bar has inside!

โ โ โ โ โ If you are a meat lover, from every Friday to Sunday, Farquhar's Bar offers Weekend Roast buffet from 12pm - 4pm consisting roasted lamb, beef and chicken. To ensure the food is at utmost quality, roasted meat is kept warm on a ceramic tray with vegetables such as tomato, cherry tomato, garlic, onion, potato, zucchini and etc as base to infuse the roasted meat with aromatic taste while retaining its juiciness before being served by the staff. A value-for-money alternative for International buffet in the same premise.

โ โ โ โ โ Bartender is very nice and has good taste. Nice for sitting inside or outside, alone or with company. Even more enjoyable than the planters lounge, which I guess had a better view.

โ โ โ โ โ Really classy old English style bar with great choice of cocktail s and simple but fresh snacks. Service is excellent as expected and professional. They sang a birthday song for me and a home away from home place.
