β β β β β Family did a combination of ski and snowboard training with First Traxx. The instructors were motivated, friendly and wonderful. They were willing to listen to our requests but were polite in advocating for us being grounded well in the basic skills. Wonderful experience with them.

β β β β β It is a good facility to hone ski/snowboarding skills no doubt, but I do wish that First Traxx offered a clearer pricing system. We (a group of 5) paid RM160 per person for a one hour session. Based on what we paid (which wasn't cheap at all), we were expecting each person to have a go at the slopes for an hour each. However, when we got there, the staff explained that the slope could only accommodate 3 people at once and each person had to take turns going down the slope. We each only had about 10-15 minutes on the slope. Perhaps it was just a case of managing expectations, but I was certainly disappointed as it was not what I expected for RM160.

β β β β β Excellent facilities and instructors -- RM159 for a 30 minute session that takes about an hour to complete with breaks inbetween. You'd think you won't need the breaks but trust me you do! My legs were all jelly-fied after the first 10 minutes so the break was quite a welcome.
Great place to train up before a snow holiday as learning whilst you are on holiday, is actually really no fun.. not to mention more expensive too!

β β β β β Came here for a few lessons with my family just to try it out. Finally decided to take the plunge and buy packages for us all when they had that amazing Merdeka sale.
We love it here. The staff are kind and mindful of beginners and allow us to learn slowly but at the same time pushing just enough to make sure we improve. The instructors are professional and all definitely know what they are doing especially when putting my kids at ease when frightened with games and humour.
The pandemic has made things a little bit more...strict I suppose? There are regulations to follow and limitations that don't allow you to just turn up for a session (I found this out the hard way. My mistake and was turned away) But I suppose it is for all our safety at the end of the day and I appreciate it. Lessons are conducted in English, although it might not be the first language of the instructors (I think) and although sometimes a little hard to understand, the instructions are clear and useful.
They have a little cafe that serves only drinks during the MCO and the coffee is great. Proper Espresso! Haven't yet tried anything else.
From the moment you walk in you are greeted by name as friends with a common interest in Ski and they are definitely passionate about it. I thoroughly recommend the whole experience.

β β β β β Love this place for the people and the experience!!! Totally worth it! You can get some second hand winter gear here too! There is a tiny cafe with really good coffee and some light bites!

β β β β β Clean top of the line facilities. Youβll pay less for lessons on this motorized hill than you would on the slopes. RM160 for one session. I recommend you book alone if possible so you have a bit more time to yourself instead of sharing with others.

β β β β β It's a great place to train before you actually go skiing or snowboarding. The reason is because instead of wasting your holiday trying to learn how to do all that, you can learn it here and actually go and enjoy your trip.
The trainers are friendly and will guide you every step of the way. I can't wait to go back and learn to properly ski and snowboard so I can hit the slopes in Hokkaido!

β β β β β TL/DR:
Pros: first timers should train here before heading to real slopes.
Cons: could focus more on user experience, rather than focusing on limiting our ski time.
Pros: It's the only place in Msia to learn skiing and snowboarding. Good to have basic training here before hitting the real slopes, so you don't fall that much and have a better time there.
Instructors go through the basic skills and techniques quite thoroughly.
Cons: Went there once when it was mid-lockdown period. Not a lot of people, and we were guided with much attention. Decided to bring my other friend to go again recently, and the experience was vastly different.
I'm quite good with the snowboard, but have never tried skiing. Took the skiing first-timer package with my gf and another friend.
Training started with 2 pax initially, but interrupted halfway by the instructor's other colleague, saying that because we were having the first timer package, it has to be 3 at one go. Not long later, we were stopped and asked to rest. When I asked why, was told that due to our cheaper first timer package, we had to rest every 10 minutes, even if we weren't tired, and the instructor would just wait for the time to pass before we could start again.
We were stopped (abruptly again) at the 50min mark (after 3x 10 min sessions). We were ushered off the machine, only to realize that the 1hr session was over. The instructor kept checking the time, making sure that each 10 min session ends exactly on time. He spent the last 10 mins upselling about the standard package, saying that because we've progressed past the first timer skills stage, so we will have to take the normal fee next time, and will have more time on the slopes.
The experience this time wasn't very pleasant. Unsure if I'd want to train there again, but only because I can't go overseas during MCO, and this is the only place I can get my snow slope addiction fix.
---
Would still recommend first timers to train here first before going overseas, as it would help a lot on the real slopes. I've guided many of my friends on real slopes, and they usually have a painful first day, falling constantly and not enjoying themselves.
Suggest that the folks here could communicate what the packages are better.
- if we had known that the first-timer package had forced "rest" times, and not actually a full hour session, we'd have just gone for the normal package, instead of waiting around staring at each other, waiting for time to pass.
- and it's not like there's additional costs if the instructor teaches during the rest time, and the slope machine wouldn't need more maintenance just because of that small additional time. Give a better experience to the users, and we'll naturally come back. Rather than feel like cos we paid less, so we have to waste our time waiting.
