β β β β β Located beside Swettenham Pier in Penang. A historical fort once belonged to British. However, there no indoor display or museum to get further historical details.
Recommended to come here for breakfast, as there many food trucks and cafe called Kota is also located inside.

β β β β β Historical place near the Georgetown city center. Built during the colonial era as a defensive fortress. Lots of cannons placed along the entire fort wall. If history is your interest, then this place is a good place to pay a visit.

β β β β β Not Worth the Rm 5 entrance price.. The place look miserable with no maintainance.. Broken stairs. Overflowing garbage, lockoff areas and under renovation.. Such a disappointment.. Barely able to admire anything..the light house gate is lock preventing us to have a closer look.. The bunker is filled with grass cutting tools.. The description display looks faded, barely visible.. broken stairs, broken displays.. They should just let people enter for free.. On the positive site the toilet is rather clean and there is an outdoor dining area which I didn't partake..

β β β β β Had a brief stroll in Fort Cornwallis after breakfast in the Fort. Great to see some canons, gunpowder magazine, statue of Sir Francis Light, and some historical information of each of those pieces. Some historical info signages have faded. Wished they could be repaired in near future. Some parts of the Fort is under construction. Overall, we had a good & quick morning stroll around the Fort.

β β β β β Not like 1st time I came here, it was very nice place. Today (May2022) part of it was close bcoz it's under renovation. But still we can visit here (must pay a ticket to enter at the entrance - RM5) . Have a cafe' inside. And also kinda food truck " Breakfast in the port", they serve only breakfast. And... The q was too long

β β β β β Fort Cornwallis is near the beach front. Entrance fee RM$5 if you are not patronising the breakfast food truck within the fort. Itβs a small fort but you get to climb up the fort for a birdβs eye view of the beach front & take some photos. I would say itβs worth the RM$5. There is toilet facilities & itβs quite clean.

β β β β β First time visiting this place after a lifetime of coming to Penang for holidays. Better late than never ? Admission is RM5, kids under 4 is free of charge. The entrance is full of beautiful ancient trees, with a neat cafe and outdoor sitting (it was closed when we were there because of puasa month). It was quite deserted when we went around evening, 6pm. Lots of interesting facts such as info on Sir Francis Light and also the numerous cannons, some of them facing the ocean. The gunpowder magazine was pretty neat to venture into. From here you could see the clock tower as well as some cruise ships nearby. I did not see any public toilets but maybe I missed it. All in all a beautiful scenic and historical place to visit ? Street parking only.

β β β β β Definitely recommend visiting. It doesn't take long and some of it is currently undergoing restoration but it's still neat. If it's a hot day with the sun out I would recommend bringing an umbrella and ensure you have water. It's a 5RM entry fee which is reasonable.
