Good place for training. You’ll know your strength and weakness. At first, it will be plenty of stones and need to be careful. When you come down that time, you might feel too slope. For those has fear of height, better try to challenge it.

Good place to hike but not for newbies as the trail is very steep. Beautiful view at the peak if it is not foggy

Entry : RM5/Person Toilet : Yes Car Parking : Yes Restaurant : No Gunung Datuk is 884m high (2900ft), making it slightly higher than nearby Gunung Angsi which is around 22km away. Climbing Gunung Datuk is well worth the effort. It is quite a strenuous physical effort. The starting point of the climb is probably less than 80m above sea level meaning that the actual height climbed is a solid 800m or so. The trail starts to climb immediately and the first hour or so is a fairly brutal ascent over twisted tree roots, rocks and dirt. On the summit you can rest on the flat boulders, enjoy the magnificent views and feel the cooling breeze. You are supposed to be able to see the Straits of Malacca. The highest boulder has a strange foot-print like depression at the top, which according to legend is the foot print of Hang Tuah himself. There are enormous trees in the lower parts of the mountain, including one that appears to have been partly sawn through.  But the tree survived and grew back, covering over the sawn section.  It's an interesting climb with lots of sights to occupy the eye, including trees with giant roots.  The trail is very clear and easy to follow.

Very convenient please for hikers which you can pay RM5 for hiking permit on the spot. A very clear trail that suitable for all levels of hikers or outdoor activities lovers and it's suitable to bring your kids as well. You may catch the sunrise if you start your hike as earlier as 5 to 5.30am and the reward is magnificent if it rain night before. This place very crowded during weekends and quiet during weekdays. The restaurant or warung at the parking area only open for business on weekends. Theere is a toilet and bathroom for you to take your shower and change after your hike. Hiking permit can be purchased from 8am to 12.30pm daily. Well done!
