★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good: Not much of a queue as compared to other famous chicken rice stalls. I didn’t have to wait.
Better: Both roasted and steamed chicken are tender. I liked the chilli which was not too spicy and had a slightly acidic taste to it. Black bean soup (5RM a bowl) was rich and nourishing.
Best: Chicken rice balls are soft and fluffy. Felt like I was cutting into clouds of rice. The seasoning and flavour of rice balls was just right, not too overwhelming. I think i could eat 30 balls at a go because they are just sooooo good and have a perfect balance on the flavour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A friend from Melaka took me to one of his regular chicken rice balls shop in Malaka. Can have yours here if you cant secure at the shop next to Hard Rock. Heng chicken rice don’t simply chop their chicken so their chicken is more intact. They give your separate chilli and garlic oil if you opt to pack.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had half chicken set with family and extra rice balls. We enjoyed all the food, and it was fast and good amount for the price, I thought. Friendly service as well. Very cooling open air corner lot made it a pleasant dining experience too. And the very clean toilet was a nice bonus.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another hidden gem slightly outside the crowded Jonker area, hence easier to find parking and enjoy delicious chicken rice balls with soft, fragrant steam chicken. Don't forget to try their black bean soup if you are dining in.

This time at a different place. This place is on the same row with Public Bank tmn Melaka Raya...
The chicken (both steamed and roasted) is nicely cooked and tasty. The rice was nicely molded by hand into bite size balls. Delicious and much better than all those touristy chicken rice balls restaurants where the rice balls are made by machine...
The only thing not getting a 5 star in my review is the chilli... the taste is unlike traditional chicken rice chilli...
If only they can change this chilli flaw, they will get a 5 star review. ?
