Nothing fancy, just a simple and delicious bowl of nyonya Cendol in a clean and cozy nyonya restaurant! Has been my favorite place in Malacca town to satisfy my craving for nyonya foods.

The asam fish is nice but the prawn sambal and brinjal are much too oily. The cendul is tasty with strong flavour of gula melaka. Price wise is reasonable and the service is satisfactory. The restaurant atmosphere is pleasant and clean.

Validation post, if you are wondering. Food is still as good, as I've remember it many moons ago! I reached at 7pm, before dinner crowd reached. Food served fast and hot. Ordered for 3 pax and we satisfactorily finished the meal.

Come early during lunch and dinner hour if you don't like waiting. This restaurant is very crowded but the environment is good. Staff will guide you for food order. I have ordered ayam pong teh, ikan bawal goreng cili garam, otak-otak, kangkung goreng cili for three person. Foods comes in big portion. Ayam pong teh is delicious and taste sweet but a bit oily. Ikan bawal goreng is very crispy but I suggest add more sugar to cili paste. Otak-otak is very nice, soft & juicy. Kangkong is taste average with salty and spicy sambal. Keropok which is serve while waiting for meal is yummy but it's charge RM2 one plate. Total bill RM110. Reasonable price because seafood normally higher price for example ikan bawal itself already cost RM48. Next time I would like to try asam pedas fish.

Food overall not bad. Today raya 1st day, maybe too busy? Queue for 1 hour, wait for the food another 1 hour. A lot food dont have. Cincaluk of Telur cincaluk only have around 2%...?? No cincaluk taste. My mom thought i order telur dada. Haha.. should improve the sop of preparing and serving food.

Very slow service. Hostile too. Staff Not friendly at all. There weren't many tables seated when we arrived. We ordered chicken pongtay, chap cai, tofu, sambal sotong petai. The chicken and tofu are salty. Chap cai so so only. These 3 dishes were mainly cooked with taucu bean paste. Now i realized nyonya dishes are mainly cooked with taucu. Sambal sotong petai was the best among the dishes we ordered. Overall it was so so only. Nothing to brag about. Space is very small. Tables are very close to each other. Soya cincau per jug was expensive, rm22. Need to pay for service tax , but service was not good. Requested for baby chair but was told to take it from the other side myself.

Whenever I am in town , this is a sure stop . The Ayam Poteng never disappoint. The soya base soya sauce gravy is a rice multipliers . Otak are fresh and juicy with spice and fish chuck . Expect some waiting time in peak periods. A very homely straits Chinese cooking. Soup like duck with salted vegetables brings comfort to the soul. Petai with sambal prawns are generous in portion. Like it's Chinese namesake which means very close relationship or friendly, this place feels like granny kitchen. Ultimately it does break the bank.
