Hungry Bacon gets me hungry for more. The food is that good. I was ready for more after the highly appetizing Bacon Wrapped Pumpkin salad. The odd combination of pumpkin, bacon, chickpeas, baby spinach and croutons with white cheese somehow just works with their own vinaigrette dressing. Definitely an appetite stimulant. Next came the Wild Boar Peratal. This appetizer was hands down the highlight of my lunch. My eyes literally lit up at the first bite of the tender wild boar meat bathe in the flavorful dry Malayalee curry. This dish deserves more recognition. I can eat this as my main meal with a bowl of rice. My mother loves pumpkin soup so it was a no brainer on the order list. And it did not disappoint. We were basically scooping up pumpkin puree in cream. Love it! My mother approved. You can't get any more sinful than the next dish, Nasi Kerabu Babi Percik Kembar. A traditional favorite of Malaysians is given a sinful twist by introducing crispy pork lard into the mix. The surprisingly tender and well marinated pork shoulder percik was another twist that uplifts the dish into heavenly status. Another winner! Can a sides overshadows the mains? This was the case with the Bacon Wrapped Chicken Roulade. The truffle mash potato outshines the chicken roulade with its smooth and buttery texture. My family and I actually finished the mash first. Having said that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the chicken roulade. With the previous two dishes' complex and strong flavors, it was just a bit subdued. But my mother had no complaints and happily took the largest piece on the plate along with most of the mash. Another winner in my books has got to be their Pork Shoulder Chop. Generously served with two substantial pieces of pork shoulder steak, this dish wins in taste, meat texture and presentation. The word tender cannot do justice to the tenderness that my teeth and mouth have experience with this cut. An absolute lip smacking experience! The chef was kind enough to explain to us how he achieved such mouth and teeth friendly texture in the meat. And I was impressed. The only item on the dessert menu is their chocolate lava cake that came with a scoop of artisanal vanilla ice cream. I was really afraid of overly sweet cake with overly sweet ice cream. But the people at Hungry Bacon knew better. I was pleasantly surprised by their restrain when it comes to using sugar for this dessert. And the thin layer of the cake with liquid chocolate contained within it is a nice touch. This is how a chocolate lava cake should be! Last but definitely not the least, the bill came to just RM181 (the lava cake was complimentary). What more could a happy guy like me ask for? Good quality and tasty food with an affordable price is a rarity for a restaurant of this kind in this area.

Dinner hunting night for me n my wife. Driving around TTDI and ended up at uptown and wanting to have some nice western food. And then we drove pass this Hungry Bacon joint. The word bacon caught my eyes and immediately drove back and found us a nice parking. Went in. First impression not many ppl. Feeling like whether the food is good or not. Just went in and give it a try. My wife ordered the pork shoulder chop served with truffle mash broccoli romescu herb butter & gravy. To be frank, F* good. Taste is awesome and meat is super tender and juicy. The right seasoning. Big big thumbs up. And I got myself a pork burger with bacon!!! With caramelised onions served with potato fries. I tell you the 2 sauces were freaking delicious ? the burger by far the best burger in town. No joke. Definitely will come back and try other dishes. Warm hospitality and good food as expected from the head chef previously from Morgansfield. Expect longer waiting times when it's packed. The fried pork skin was alright although the portion was a bit overwhelming for 5 of us to finish. Maybe consider smaller portions in the future. Worth a visit for pork lovers, but do remember to book your table!

?Hungry Bacon ?? 1. PORK SHOULDER CHOP - 48 hour brined pork shoulder chops, served with truffle mash, broccoli, romescu, herb butter & gravy. 2. MEE GORENG MAMAK - Penang recipe served with prawn, chicken, tofu, fritters & fish cake 3. CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE (VE) - Served with Forty Licks Vanilla Ice Cream 4. ASSAM THE BOIS - Kalamansi limes, dried sour plum & topped with kalamansi sorbet 5. GUINNESS STOUT TOTAL: RM135.10 Verdict: The first thing that came to my mind when I heard of Hungry Bacon is β€˜don’t go bacon my heart’ but….?? Saw a couple of reviews about this new resto pub and decided to check them out as their trailblazing β€œSeriously Non-Halal” menu which fuses wholesome Western fare with a whiff of Asian attracted my porky side ?? Sad to say that the whole experience fell short of expectations ? The biggest disappointment was the pork shoulder chop. My dad and I both ordered the same dish, and it was a shame that mine was a disaster. The pork chop was tough, thick and full of fats. I had a hard time cutting it, and of course the biggest struggle was chewing it. There was no consistency in the cuts of pork served as my dad got a thin cut whereas I got a thick, chunky slab of meat which was rubbery. This was a big let down especially by a restaurant that prides themselves in serving a porky affair. The mee goreng mamak had plenty of wok hei, but I found it slightly over as the smokiness overpowered the flavour of the noodles. I wasn’t too pleased with any of the dishes and felt like it was a rip off - the standard of food did not match its price tag ??‍♀️

Read a review of this place and decided to check it out. Turned out to be a great dinner night. The food was really good. We ordered the 3 most popular dishes ie the Nasi Kerabu, Pork Shoulder chop and Pork burger. I must say we were not disappointed at all. Even the soups we ordered as starters was lip smacking . As we ate, saw some of the other food ordered by the other tables. Was intrigued by the Nachos dish which was specially delivered by the chef. Looks like a return is necessary. I was also a bit tempted by some of the pasta dishes I saw on the menu. One of the great fusion restaurants I have been to in a while and the fact that we are now allowed to dine in makes this even a more enjoyable experience than eating take aways.

Family run business with friendly service. Food was delicious and the drinks paired well with the meat. The salad had an interesting take on the usual vinaigrette. Could see that there were a number of other families coming to dine with kids as well.

This restaurant is located in the old Skippy's pizza & we decided to pay this place a visit & I'm glad we did. The food selection was good & our pork shoulder chop was nicely done. I think I overdosed on the chicharron. Will definitely go back again to try the other selections.

If you are craving or thinking of indulging in a good, porky meal, look no further than the Hungry Bacon. There is something for everyone and every dish seems to hit the top mark. The fried rice and noodles have ample of 'wok hei' while the pork shoulder and meatballs round up a very satisfying meal. The pleasant surprise here is the salted egg fried fish skin - you will regret for passing this up. You have been warned. It is always nice to have a chat with the chef and Chef Timothy is proactive to explain the dish and takes feedback. Will definitely return for another great meal here.
