β β β β β NEVER IN MY LIFE have i ever had my favourite meat ,the Filet Mignon, thats NOT a Filet Mignon....Coming from a meathouse that claims to have THE BEST STEAK IN TOWN,NOT.
They dont even know what a filet mignon is to begin with, yet having it on the menu. Gordon Ramsay needs to visit them for Hells Kitchen lah.
So what happened?
And So i ordered Filet Mignon for dinner sebab lama sgt tak makan daging.....had it at The Ship @ Damansara Utama
But wat came shocked me....it was a FLAT Sad Looking tenderloin steak.
So i called the waiter to tell him that this is definitely NOT a filet mignon. And on came an old lady , i assume the mgr or watever lah , she said this "this is how we make our filet mignon cos diff restaurant prepare it differently. And im like WHAT !!!! Theres never 2 way as to how diff filet mignon can be...It is wat it is lah..And to make it worst, the steak was fully soaked with the sauce,(im very sure this is to cover up the meat not being fresh) thus i cant even enjoy the meat flava without the sauce.Alls done...Surely my 1st n last time here ...

β β β β β Havent been years for a decade. Even my kids are all grown.
Food is the same. Well good job maintaning the standard.
The waiter we had that night was a bit confused with their menu too. We were group of 11pax. Maybe the order wa a lot and it got mixed, otherwise he's a cool dude and attentive too!
After a decade, the experince was pleasant but if I may add, just refurbish your place for a more recent vibe.

β β β β β Always very good atmosphere here at The Ship @ Damansara. Good service and food is always good too. Had our family dinner here and the place was packed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Valet parking available and inexpensive.

β β β β β Nostalgic venue which i frequented in the 90s with my dad for their live music. 30 years on, visited with my kids over Christmas to satisfy a craving for a local western dinner. It's a remarkable sight at dusk with an offer for valet parking, if you need it. The lighting and deco inside befitting of a galleon. Very busy with many large groups. Love to hear their trademark sizzling dishes whisk by - always popular here. Table service was friendly and efficient as can be - and are dressed the part. Food was a fixed menu for Christmas with 2 sets and a series of ala carte favourites. Ushered to a cabin. Kids were seen to mini aprons. Orders and service was relatively quick. The kids really enjoyed their meals; they easily chomped down an appetiser with a main served with a bread roll. As feedback, I would never recommemd ketchup and chilli at a table where meals are rich with gravy and salads with dressing. Also caught a huge housefly at my table - which was attended to by the captain promptly.

β β β β β Ok so I haven't been here before, it's my first time coming based on other people's hearsay. To summarize, they really pay attention to their steaks. But only the steaks.
The starter bread is like 20cent Chinese bread. Butter is ok, standard butter.
The mushroom soup comes from a can, BUT was well prepared with no lumps.
The ice cream desert was like Walls strawberry flavour. With canned pineapples. Kinda flat, nothing to shout about.
With that, the steaks were HUGE. They were JUICY. Medium done (the only way I would take my steaks), it was like eating soft tender meats.
My bro in law had lamb chop and chicken chop and the serving size was awesome.
Wedges served with the steak was a little meh. The corn cob was really nice. Sweet and buttery.
All in all, I would definitely come back here for the price value.
Just make sure you are here for the steak and nothing else, cos that's the only one they knocked out of the park.

β β β β β Maybe I shouldn't compare with The Ship @ Bukit Bintang but the service at the Damansara Utama outlet was a bit lethargic and slow. The food was alright overall but I felt the steak wasn't medium well - it tasted like well done. All in all, the dining experience was ok.
