There is very delicious foods and good service. I like to eat cakes with turkish tea. Also I like to eat Uzbek palov??.

This review is of Istanbul Corner, a restaurant on the IIUM campus. Nearly all restaurants and stores on this campus are contracted to different companies every two years or so, and Istanbul Corner is one of the best restaurants to open here since 2010. It offers a mixture of Turkish and Uzbek food, which are apparently very similar and have much in common. The food is nice, clean and properly served. The desserts are incredibly delicious. The drink options are Turkish tea, Raspberry tea, Turkish coffee, water, carbonated drinks, and a couple of premix juices. It would be nice to see more types of drinks, particularly Pomegranate juice (it’s on the menu but I haven’t seen it served yet). Fresh salad is offered daily, but it’s a limited amount and often sold out. (Important Note: As of the time of this review, only Istanbul Corner and MamaMia offer fresh salad on campus, and the latter seems to have an endless supply of it). The food at Istanbul Corner is laid out buffet style, but the cost depends on what item(s) and portion size(s) you take. When in doubt, you can ask the friendly staff to give you a specific portion based on your budget. The staff members are very friendly and respectful, too. It’s very nice to see such welcoming attitudes when you’re taking a break from classes, research and work. They have had different staff come and go, though, and some of us have noted a difference in the taste of the food, but it is still good. The food and desserts at this place are often sold out before closing hours, so if you want to eat here make sure to go early. On the rare occasions where they do have leftover food before closing time, they tend to give it away for free. All food for the next day is made fresh, and no leftovers are served in following days. Seating is quite limited for the crush that this restaurant receives. It’s also very hard to find an empty seat during lunch break (13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays). But based on my knowledge of the IIUM campus and services, the seating areas are under control of the university and not the restaurant administration. Overall, this is a superb place. I would give it more than five stars if I could. It would be nice if they could provide delivery on campus for anyone not able to go to their place do to work, illness, disability, etc. And it would be great if the University would allow this restaurant to become a permanent fixture of IIUM, like Evoke Cafe, because Istanbul Corner offers a great variety food, desserts, and drinks at affordable prices, along with friendly service.
