On 18 Aug 2021 12.50 pm I wanted to return two pairs of shoes I purchased through an e-comm platform via J&T Sri Hartamas. Sri Hartamas would not process one of the shoes because its box was slightly damaged. I pointed out that the contents are not damaged.
However, the condition of the items was not relevant to him, only the boxes were. He did not want to check the contents and even enquired which Return Label is for which item; he did not verify this for himself (is this not more important than checking the condition of the box). I also asked to be sold a parcel box, but he told me he did not have any for sale (odd for a courier service) but instead asked me to purchase a box elsewhere and come back to him.
Why is it J&T's responsibility to check the condition of the box? I would think this responsibility solely lies with the seller.
In the end, only one of the items was processed by Sri Hartamas. I brought the other item (with the same "damaged" box) to another branch, and it was promptly processed, and the refund was completed on the same day.
However, the refund for the Sri Hartamas item was delayed by five days because the Return Label had gone missing and I had to reproduced it for them!

β β β β β Inconsistent in service quality as sometimes there is one young malay lady counter service was rude to customers and chooses who she want to be nice. This is unacceptable. Also one fat malay male counter service personnel is very lazy and take extremely long to key in only one courier slip.
