★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been going there since it opened years ago and food has remained consistently good since. Prices are some of the best value in the Mont Kiara area. Food is good, not fine dining five star hotel good but definitely far above the level of chain Japanese restaurants you get elsewhere, but Kobayashi has way better prices! The recommended dishes include the tori karaage, the sake fry maki and the salmon fry bento. The restaurant itself is quite humble and spartan but the ambience is casual and friendly. It's as though they combined your favourite neighbourhood kopitiam with a Japanese restaurant and then hid it inside of a condo. Service and communication can be inconsistent at busy times but the staff always try, at least. Bonus, parking is available for Kobayashi guests in the Palma condo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good food, service and ambience. Authentic Japanese food that's regularly visited by Japanese expats (from Japanese companies like Toshiba, Panasonic and etc), who lives or works around. Ample parking space during dinner time. Price is acceptable. Need to work on ventilation, as it gets very smokey throughout the entire meal. Very suitable for groups, not dates.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in Mont Kiara Palma, right beside the swimming pool. (You have to tell the security guard that you wanna dine in the restaurant, and the guard will guide you where to park and the location of the restaurant in the area) This restaurant has been operating for 10 years according to the waitress and I was happy with and thankful for the good and friendly services by the Chinese waitress and her Bangladeshi-looking helper. The restaurant served quality and thick salmon shashimi which my partner and I enjoyed very much! Portion of dinner set is above average! Saw japanese enjoyed their food here as well. The prices are pretty reasonable! They have wide range of food, a lil bit of chinese-japanese fusion food as well. Will definitely be back to try other food soon!
