I think they have the most inefficient onboarding procedures ever: first you need to buy the tickets, and the counter opens only 2 hours before the ferry leaves. Then you need to cue to pay for the national park fee. Then you need to cue again, to get your name registered in the system. What? Why? I don't know! Usually is a massive cue, i cued for almost an hour! After getting your name registered, you have to cue again to get your boarding pass from another counter and finally, once you have the boarding pass, you can start the cueing process to get on the ferry! The whole thing could be easily reduced to 1 counter doing everything at the time you buy the ticket! If you are going to Tioman, be prepared to cue ?

So much more to improve. The process doesn't make sense. You've got to buy the ticket, register, buy the marine park ticket and get your boarding pass all at 4 different booths. Time consuming. Hope they improve soon. After all it's a tourist destination.

Come earlier an hour or two before your departing time. Queue at Gate A and B are not very systematic, very very messy actually! Anyway, your seat number are written on the ticket, so, no need to worried about it. Trip from this port to Tioman Island takes about 2.5 hours. At this port, one of the biggest ship is "Wawasan 1", with air conditioning inside. Can carry over 200++ passenger.

We wanted to take a ferry to Tioman Island from Mersing Ferry Terminal. The purchase of tickets from Bluewater Express was a nightmare as the counter was overcrowding with people. The noise made the conversation and hearing almost impossible as our voices were drowned in it. More review at "Bluewater Express Ticket Counter W2". What bothered me was that while buying the ferry tickets and registering at two different counters, no staffs directed us to pay the Conservation Fee at another counter until a kind traveller approached me in the queue and asked me to make the payment. When the first ferry arrived, many people were cutting queue and rushing to board ignoring the rightful line. The ferry was full when it was our turn. We had no choice but to wait for the next one. We took the next ferry. On board the ferry, a man told me that we had taken his seats but we told him that others had taken our seats as well. He was very unhappy and said he did not care. We did not surrender our seats and he sat somewhere else. Soon, someone came and said the same thing to the man but they did not fuss over the lost of their seats and sat elsewhere. In summary, the place has a disastrous operation system which was a complete shame. Tip: Go on weekday if possible to avoid all these unplesant situations.

The ferries run on a timetable set by the meteorology department based on the tides, so check as it changes daily - however don’t expect them to run on time as ferries are late, it’s a chaotic system where you’ll need to ask at each check point to make sure it’s the right destination as the announcements are unclear and there are 2 ferries going in 2 different directions! They’ll also wait until the ferry is full before they leave so prepare to wait...

Can get chaotic especially during peak periods. please check ahead for the ferry schedule as the ferries here run on a schedule determined by the tides. during the monsoon season, there could be no ferries at all for days. You have to purchase and pay for the relevant marine park taxes and fees when you buy the ferry tickets at the new Mersing Harbour Centre complex just opposite the road. Take care of your belongings and valuables especially if you are taking the public ferries.

Ferry timing is out..I mean bad.. staff should be smile and friendly. But most of the time they are very helpful! Even 80% of them face like just getting a slap. You work with customer so yeah..smile and be friendly! Note: Check you ferry...and recheck, I've been in a situation where your ferry got an engine problem and also I heard this is not a rare situation.. Improve your service, yes..it's a monopoly business, money still come in but service and guess should be no 1 too! Pick up your phone too and do the best strategy for your marketing so you can make tourist love Tioman even more and love their ferry service too!! And those customers who smoke at the back should be advise to no smoke I think! We still can smell it even they close the door+we got headache. Switch on your tv too so people can watch and not too bored. Lastly..prepared at least small stools for you extra customers! Don't let those tourist standing for hours while all seat are full!

The jetty is well renovated but unfortunately it was poorly maintained despite each tourist(a few hundreds per day) would have to pay some fee (RM5) to the Jabatan Laut(Marine Dept). Almost half of the wall fans are not functional and there is no water supply in all of its washrooms. The boarding system is also known to be inefficient and messy which often results in chaos. Not suitable for young children and toddlers as the place is always overcrowded and hot.
