Hey guys.. check out this awesome Izakaya inspired Japanese restaurant in middle of KL city! The wide array of unique/innovative japanese food selection was exciting!! The menu is different than any typical Japanese restaurants I’ve been to. Went with a big group and we ordered alot of dishes and I can say all of them were super delicious. Price range from mid-high side, but totally worth it for the quality of food. Halal food and no alcohol served. It’s best to secure your table by booking prior to your visit. Checkout their IG at @kingukongu.my for more info and link for booking. Highly recommended place ??

I can't get over how delicious everything we ate for dinner recently at Kingu Kongu. Still dreaming about their salmon tataki. Service was quick and attentive on a Wednesday night. Definitely won't be our last visit for sure!

Good experience eating there. The tuna tataki was spectacular. The squid was amazing as well. Around Rm200-250 for two people. Good idea to book beforehand online. Will come again next time if there is an occasion.

Nice Japanese decor. The restaurant had two sides but due to high number of people we had a seat at the part near the kitchen. Smoky, not condusive for dining. Food taste alright. Salmon sushi bomb was the only highlight. Others were pretty average. Not the best yakitori.

The woman who assisted us was friendly and helpful. But the guy at the cashier/entrance was the opposite. The setting was very Japanese. The curry rice was okay. Try their recommended food, bomb truffle something I forgot the name. It was yummy

We didn’t plan/review the place before and surprisingly the food are awesome. Kids enjoyed the cheese chicken while the adult loved the petai sambal sushi and grill squid. Place is clean and spacious, staffs are nice and welcoming. Lots of drawing about King Kong around the seats, very appealing to the kids. Price is on the high side though, but the quality is there.

Nice ambience, friendly service and fast serving time. The price is on the high side but the taste is below average and the portion is very small. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you have no other choice.

The ambience is fantastic. You almost feel like you're in Japan. The food however is below average. The ingredients lack freshness. The tuna, salmon sashimi all come across as dry and tasteless. The squid was rubbery. And generally there isn't the complexity or layers of flavor you get for the premium price being charged. Sadly disappointing. Come for the ambience, but expect very average food.
