★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is great to encounter fireflies in a boat on the Kuala Selangor river that goes 50 feet deep (15,24 meters deep). The staff is very professional, they give you a lifejacket even if the river is always quiet. Before arriving to the site, you will have a talk or not with monkeys :) This activity is a must-seen !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ About an hour journey from either Klang or KL, huge parking lot and with public toilet as well. Charges per boat count, 1 boat fit 4 tourist at Rm50 per boat. Boat type are kind or paddle boat which without engine. Safety wise erm.. yup.. with life vest. Sightseeing journey approximately 20mins. Simply amazing with all the fireflies covering most of the trees at riverside and blinking like a fairy lights ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried to come fast cuz it was about to rain at last mins when we were nearly reached.
This is CLOSED until the end of 2020 but there was no announcement shown on Google ?.
We drove 70km just to come here and there was nobody there. A shop keeper near by let us know they are might close until finish RMCO. I saw another car parked next to us. They must came to see this. Have no choice but coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Something new, but nothing fancy. Boat ride using sampan around 20-30 minutes and can only carry 4 people, not more. Price increase to rm60 (mykad holder) per boat now and quite expensive compared to the experience it brings and considering it belongs to the municipal council (should be cheaper). Rm70 for non mykad holder (foreign tourist)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was here in February 2020. You have to wait until night time you go out on a little boat you’re on the river. Both sides has endless amount of bushes and trees. There are hundreds if not thousands of fireflies glowing all over And it looks like beautiful stars in the sky.

1. Actual fireflies. Lots of it.
2. Some may land on your hand. You get really close. It's pitch black.
3. Great infrastructure. Systematic sustainable way of enjoying this rare phenomenal.
4. Kuala Selangor have nice food. Great for an evening trip (e.g., 5 PM - 10 PM).
Cons
1. Fireflies availability depends on weather and other factors.
2. It's pitch black. You are in a boat. Most cameras can't handle pitch black night shot.
3. Great infrastructure means price is higher. Need 4 people in a boat for least price. You can share with strangers.
4. Kuala Selangor is a bit far from Kuala Lumpur and you will need a car for an evening trip.
5. Mosquito repellent is high recommended. You can buy it there or buy it cheaper from a pharmacy.
Verdict:
Great to visit at least once.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know why people rave about it. It's nothing like magical or breathtaking. Just picturise Christmas tree in dark n with lights. Okay, once you can visit along with your family.
I felt for barely 10-15 minutes boating, taking us close to the tree where fireflies emit lights n signals of mating. 50RM for boat was expensive. And a boat can accommodate 4 person. We were just 2 and 50RM was more. Yet it's okay, one time experience.
Maybe if you are lucky, you can see swarms of flies. We did see many, but nothing like special in that 13 min boat view. After standing in a queue for almost 2 hours. Maybe coz it was public holiday and hence d crowd.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time do booking with fireflyz and there’s an typo with my surname so i need do the changes as the same in the IC (my flight one month ahead from the date i ask for the changes). Unfortunately the charges cost rm150 which is expensive than my flight ticker price ? , airasia charge RM0 thought.. I’m disappointed , help!
