★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a vegetarian. I stay away from meat. I usually avoid being in meat restaurants because of my personal problem with the smell ... I caught the attention of the presence of a coffee and a French restaurant. I wanted to experiment with sitting in the open air to eat something of vegetables ... I asked the chef's advice that was in place when serving vegetable soup with a special pie that made me travel with taste to the streets of Paris in 2005. Thank you for a great experience great place good service. Yes, it deserves to be shared

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was introduced to this place by a friend who frequents this place slot. I had the spinach quiche (where the base was done in-house) which is superrrrrrbbbbb and the fish and chips were out of this world! Would def go back! ❤️❤️❤️ apparently their ice cream was homemade too? Cause it was lovely!
Though my mocha was more of chocolate flavoured milk with a very light hint of coffee. Not sure what happened there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really enjoyed our meal. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Lovely music sets the mood for a romantic evening too. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and had a smooth sauce to accompany it. Also had the tender half roast chicken - but you need to be hungry to finish this. It’s a huge portion. The quiche was also delicious. Looking forward to trying the breakfast menu and the eggs Benedict.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is good and service is amazing, i find it odd that the place is still fairly empty.
We patroned the place some time around 8pm on a weekday after I received confirmation that the food was halal as both chefs were muslims.
The server and owner were very friendly and answered all our questions regarding the food.
Upon recommendation, we decided on Aglio Olio Seafood and the Ribeye. Both tasted amazing - the pasta had plenty of seafood and they were also generous with the portion.
When we first got the rib eye, I was turned off because it looked well done from the offset. But after cutting through, i noticed that it was actually made according to the doneness that we asked for which was medium - mind you, some steak specialty restaurant can't even ensure they get your doneness right so this is definitely a plus.
Overall, a very enjoyable dinner. The mocktails also did not disappoint - but perhaps best to wait slightly longer before u sip to let the ice melt further.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Despite its unassuming appearance, this small corner cafe packs a real punch in casual European gastronomy.
We were a company of five. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, a seafood pizza, pumpkin and leek soup, aglio olio pasta and seafood pasta.
Pizza came right out of the oven, piping hot and they were outstanding.
The pumpkin and leek soup was amazing and our pasta were delicious.
It was a great dining experience. The only downside was the coffee. I ordered a cappuccino but it turned out to be more like a cafe mocha. Perhaps the owner mistook my order, but I didn’t want to make a fuss out of it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being around the neighbourhood frequently I noticed the beginning of setting up Le café Marcel since last year. I’ve seen the chef/owner partially rolling up the steel doors countless of times, carefully preparing for the opening the restaurant which progressively ignited my anticipation to visit. As shallow (and silly, I know) as it sounds, a French guy in a kitchen = authentic food guaranteed, right? Finally after a long wait, the doors are finally open wide to the public and needless to say I eagerly scheduled the soonest evening. I ordered a beef burger for my SO and a Shepard’s pie for myself.
We all know life is full of surprises which comes in all forms and on that evening we received it in a form of a burger, served with a dark coloured and dry meat patty, paired with no sauce to save it from severe dehydration. It’s common for most restaurants to use frozen fries, but it’s surely uncommon to be served unseasoned, over cooked frozen fries in a proper restaurant. The surprise was further amplified with my Shepard’s pie, served a cheese puddle with bits of shredded chicken and the best way to describe the taste would be a diluted can of locally made Campbells chicken soup.
While the food were visually stimulating to look at, they were too much for our stomachs to digest and we couldn’t get ourselves to finish our meal. We had plans after dinner but we actually cancelled them because we felt so drained after our meal, we just wanted to get home quick to process the sensory overload from dinner.
Overall experience with this restaurant was like an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares without him shouting at people to get things done. I do hope someone could take up Gordon’s role of saving the restaurant from a possible bleak future should they continue to serve with these standards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The pizza is delicious. Couscous is done perfectly than I anticipated. Its my first time here and its a good place to just relax after a long day of work.
But the ribeye is a lil too rare for my liking. Had to stop eating cause its going to make me worry of having a bad stomachache haha but overall the place is just perfect to just chillax with the wind blowing your stress away ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The lunch buffet is simple but really value for money. I had nothing to complain for the price we paid. My Dad enjoyed his Tenderloin with Morel Mushrooms Gratin.
