★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This building is a hostel for undergraduate students. It has two wings that are connected at the ground level (but Google maps incorrectly shows the building as two separate buildings). There are three entrances to this block: the main entry in the center, and one entryway in each wing. The center entry way faces a common room that is sometimes used as a storage room for students.
This block is the nearest to the Mahallah Aminah gate, security office, vending machine, principal's house, and administration office (in Block CF). A covered pathway leads from this block to Block CF, H, PG, F, and all the way to the neighboring Mahallah Asiah, too. Pathways to blocks I, J, E, D, and C are also available but some parts are uncovered so there's no 100% rain protection.
The block is also close to the Mahallah convenience store, laundry room, student lounge and cafeteria.
Every floor of this block has 4 apartments on each wing, except for the first/ground floor (it has 2 apartments in each wing).
Each apartment has a foyer, hallway, balcony (with two deep sinks to wash laundry, plus clothes lines for line drying). The apartments also have two large rooms/compartments separated from the hall with curtains rather than doors. Each compartment is furnished for two students, so each student has their own bed, desk, shelf, bulletin board, and closet) - but there is no extra partition or curtain inside each individual compartment. There are no air conditioners in any of the apartments, just ceiling fans.
Every two apartments that face each other are connected to one another from the inside. The hallway connecting them has doors on each side that can be locked. And that hallway is where the shared bathroom is located. The bathroom is very small and has only two sinks and two stalls. The stalls have two regular toilets (surprisingly no squatting toilet as is usually common in Asian countries). And the shower head is also in the same stall. So, the toilet and shower and squeezed into one small space.
If each apartment is fully occupied, this means a maximum of 8 students would share these two sinks and two bathroom stalls.
The outside of every apartment has a shoe shelve and the niche in wall has a counter and sink area. I believe that was designed to be a cooking area once upon a time, but cooking is not permitted anymore and any student who is caught cooking without official permission will be fined by the administration.
During the summer term and holiday, remaining students are often asked to transfer to this block from other blocks so that all students are in one central area close to all security and other facilities.
I have never seen monkeys come to this block, probably due to its proximity to the road. But the building is not immune to other creatures such as lizards or cats.
Overall, the building is well maintained, rooms are spacious and well suited for undergraduate students. The bathrooms could use some improvements, though. Also, it would be nice if the common room (aka Usrah Room) at the ground floor was furnished appropriately and made available for students either as a lounge or shared kitchen. It has so much potential yet is underused.
